They would be 32-12 and preparing to face Denver without their starting center, who suffered a foot injury in the previous game and is likely to miss the rest of the season.
While everyone relates height with shot blocking, instincts and reaction time are much bigger factors. One thing Yao does posses is great footwork especially for such a lage man. I miss Yao everytime I watch the Rockets play.
He is so big that he just clogs up the paint whether he gets blocks or not. He along with deke were the reason why we used to be so good on D.
The question is, will he fit the system when he comes back. If he doesn't, then do we change the system to fit him or do we trade him? Guess we'll find out.
Yao is also good at 'defensive rebounding +-'. When DH plays against yao, his rebound per game is sharply below his season average. Another thing is that yao makes battier's life much easier. Battier can worry less about kobe/lebron/dwade attacking the basket as long as they are not at full speed.
Very good question Sherlock!!!! Too bad some of the people on the board don't see it the same way... They figure when he comes back things will just fall into place..
Don't you worry. Rick will play him 7 minutes a game and say he is deem unfit for the Chemisty and we will sit him out and attempt to trade him after we just took a dump on our players and ruined any ability to get something good. i still think with the t-mac situation they should of allowed him to play so he can build up his market. When you play him 7 minutes and make comments "He isn't the same" in public, you just took a crap on him and lowered his value. Ya people want his expiring crap but it would be nice if they also got a 23 million expiring crap who could play some basketball and maybe get back to his former self. Rocket Management took a dump on that idea and basically made him a 23 million expiring contract with no playing ability.......
thank god its the forum and people should know by know not everybody thoughts are correct, some are outrageous, some are stupid, some are smart. Hell I am sure in your 11,296 posts you must of taken a lot of dumps.....
you know, it's hard to believe Yao is 7'6 with that kind of agility showed in the video. i hope he recovers well and brings us a champion trophy .... i pray!!
Exactly. He's too respectful and loyal to management to deserve a Tmac-esque treatment. Unless of course, his physical ability has diminished to a point where he is no longer conducive to team success, or a better trade opportunity arises. Yao has never prematurely announced an injury to avoid getting traded, nor has he used his personal blog to announce a season ending injury without telling management first. And on top of all that, he never went in and out of the lineup, ruining chemistry and causing headaches for "Rick the ruler".
Yes, so in that context, Gentle Giant (referring to Yao) is actually an insult highlighting his passiveness on the court
