With Yao in the high post, the opposite team will play zone defence, are you kiding me? every shots from Tmac or Yao will be wide open, and those Gs or SFs can't cover P N R without bigman involved, Zone Defence only effient against low Post players.

yeah i hope you are right. we need Yao to make those jusp shots. If he is able to knock them down we can run alot more pick & rolls with him and T-Mac.

Does anyone know when that brace will come off?

We set t-mac up in post up positon quite often if i recall correctly.. He scores or gets an assist everytime unless doubled real quick. Yao would be unstoppable if he learned how to attack the basket without dribbling OR he bring back some of the pajama-era Yao moves.

I like it, and not only should Yao be shooting 15 footers but he should be taking the ball to the basket in the pick and roll, offensive fouls be damned. Tmac in low post is definately a different look and at least worth exploring.
    5 stars for me

I wouldn't know, but from what I've seen, T-Mac is no more or less productive in the post than otherwhere.

The main problem being that Gollum's offense takes too long to post him up.

I'd make two major offensive changes if I became coach of this team:

    (1) Simplify the plays. The ideas are good, but just too complicated for a 24 second clock.

    (2) Get Yao and T-Mac to play together. How often does T-Mac pass the ball into Yao on the post? Rarely. The only play that Yao and T-Mac work together one is the one where Yao runs all the way from one side of the court to the other to set a pick for T-Mac on the wing. A decent play, but not enough. They need to have Tracy be the entry passer more often, allowing him to cut to the basket, pull the Jim Jackson cut-in, cut-back for an open 3 pointer, etc. When posting up T-Mac, right when he gets the ball about 15 ft from the basket in the post up position, bring Yao over to set a pick. Stuff like this. Far too often it is either T-Mac or Yao.

I actually disagree. If you put Yao + TMac on the same side, they can play 3 on 2. So instead of doubling, they're really just 1.5ing (if that makes any sense).

I like seeing Yao & TMac on seperate sides of the offense. If Yao gets the ball in the post, he either draws a double or takes the shot (or hell, sometimes both).

    Well, you know I disagree.

Mainly, because as it is it clearly isn't working.

But logically, Yao and TMac both SHOULD draw double teams. Heck, with them both on the same side, the defense should really shift so much that it is 4 defenders on them 2. That creates situations for your role players to start feeling more confident and aggressive.

It's good to create mismatches for you superstars and let them by their nature create them for others.

I'm not saying they should be doing this predominantly, but they need to mix it up a lot more.

The great strength of a Kobe-Shaq team, or the Nash-Nowitski offenses, etc., was that while they could both create on their own, they also worked together a lot of the time.

I dont like Tmac shooting jumpers all the time,
if he didn't post up or drive, he would just be...
    ALAN HOUSTON!
