^^^ That's pretty unfunny. I have a feeling if this show actually made it on television...it wouldn't even last as long as The Micheal Richard's Show. And I love the Cavemen, but it seems like those creative juices are running dry...the last commercial (the party one) wasn't that great.
usually the geico cavemen would be the kind of thing i wouldn't get at all. the kind of thing where so many people seem to jump so far on the bandwagon that they're practically writing how funny the next commercial is before it even comes out b/c they're going to find someway to think it's hilarious. but not this time. i have loved this series of commercials. it's one of the greatest series ever. i mean think of how popular the "i just saved a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to geico" ads were and the cavemen have completely blown that away to the point that geico is basically associated with only the cavemen ads. however, a show is just ridiculous. it won't be good and messes with the novelty. the series is great b/c they kept coming up with great little 30 second clips that just always seemed to click. 30 minutes a week, week after week? uhh, no. as for encino man, that is a great movie and that's that.
It's official: http://www.reuters.com/article/entertainmentNews/idUSN1535421320070515?feedType=RSS&rpc=22 ABC turns to cavemen, modern women, for new lineup By Paul Thomasch and Steve Gorman NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - ABC on Tuesday announced plans for 12 new television shows next season, including a spinoff of its hit hospital drama "Grey's Anatomy" and a caveman comedy based on the popular Geico insurance commercials. Looking to reignite a ratings rebound that faltered this season, ABC unveiled a broad programming slate for the 2007-2008 broadcast season built around seven new dramas, four new comedies and a new reality show. The latest crop of prime-time offerings from the Walt Disney Co.-owned network is built around lighter, escapist shows, with character-driven stories, female protagonists and supernatural themes. The network even picked up a comedy called "Cavemen," adapted from the Geico commercials as an offbeat commentary on ethnic prejudice from the perspective of three prehistoric guys trying to make their way in the modern world.
So this is great for Geico, as is the hour-long infomercial called "Airline" for Southwest. But I don't need to watch a pointless and unfunny show about yuppie morons. I already have Entourage for that.
I can't believe no one found this one: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ii8g7XZG1G0"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ii8g7XZG1G0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> "space age neutron sticks"
ABC should've learned from NBC about expanding SNL skits into full length movies. In most cases what works for a short recurring theme doesn't work for a longer format.
