I'm hearing that it's only on online orders. The estimated ship dates are wild too, around the 19th. Pretty good deal though. Poor Circuit City. They must be really hard up if they're giving away free money.
they showed the commercial a bunch of times on tnt, it doesn't say online. it just says friday/saturday only
Was trying to reserve a midnight copy at the local game stop. They told me they sold out, might try walmart tonight.
My guy pre-ordered this game and he's so damn excited to pick it up in a bit. It's his day off today. He said he's gonna play all day. I told him, "as long you do some of laundry, i'm good."
this is correct... you can get it at the store BUT the circuit city I went to only got 5 points cards in, 2 of them were missing. I happened to get the last 1 but 2 guys behind me were pissed. Why would they advertise something and not have enough... its not like we were there late. We got there 1st thing when they opened. If there is any good news to the people wanting the points card and arent one of the 1st 3 people in, they will reserve you a points card still (basically you buy Gears for $40, the card for $20 and call you when the card comes in to get).
So I picked it up last night at gamestop and I got some downloadable content only released to those who pick it up at midnight. Big deal. Beat the first act and all I can say is WOW, this game is badass. Picks up where part 1 left off and the controls are pretty much the same. I played the horde with my roommate and it was pretty cool. Just endless wave after wave of locust come in and overwhelm you. No content, no story, just mindless killing.. Something that will help me cope with the loss last night. Ah well, I recommend this game to anyone who liked GoW1. It's a sweet buy.
Yeah last night my roomate had a dream. He was Dominic Santiago and he was alone, unarmed, and had two giant grubs standing over him. He said all of the sudden he heard someone yell "DOM!!" and two shots rang out. One of thel locusts had a spew of blood shoot from his temple and fell to his knees. A mysterious figure slid "Dom" a Lancer. He revved it up and cut deep into the locusts neck bringing the saw halfway down the grub's torso before the gasoline ran out and it the humming of the saw stopped. He looked up at the figure as it came from the shadows. It was Marcus Fenix with my face. I helped him up and we decided right then and there we were not going to stop until the locusts are dead. We took it as a sign that we have to start playing the game in co-op and not stop until it is beaten.
gold plated hammerburst (battle rifle that doesnt have the chainsaw on it) some themes/gamer pics, and the game itself comes with 5 classic maps from the first GoW multiplayer. if you got the special edition, u get the gold plated lancer, which i don't think is really worth the extra $$$
The special edition also came with a booklet, a dvd, a different case, the gold lancer, the gold hammerburst, and at Best Buy, they came with a little remote control centaur tank. The tank is awesome...I wasn't able to get one but my friend did. It isn't really little either, its a good size RC tank. I just got the regular game cause I had stuff to trade, so the game ended u costing me $4. DRIZNO! ITS ON KID! You're so gonna sniped again!
Unfortunately my CC had the points card. Anyone want to play in a month? Yea I know it's a bit far off, but I'm too busy with my other games and I want to finish those first before I start another one. My gamer tag is "things break".
Anybody up for some horde!! The single player is amazing! I don't even think I'm 1/3 of the way through and I've enjoyed it more than the first game.
Btw this is by far the greatest game I have ever played. My favorite game before was RE4. But Gears 2 ****s all over RE4.
Like this game a lot, wish I would have bought it originally instead of Fallout 3. Spoiler on where I think the storyline is going: Spoiler The last level I played was the decommissioned base, I hope they don't pull a "We created the Locusts" type storyline.
