sean, heath and i were going on about that the last time we got together for a beer...so freaking hilarious. i still think the hardest i've ever laughed was watching the snl with dick in a box and it went right into that skit.
This is America, the land of the free, right? I don't understand why Americans can't marry the person that they want to marry, because of a law or a religious policy... What harm does it do to the country if two men marry, or if two women marry?
I don't see how what I stated is ironic. The current situation is the government defines marriage legally. My argument is to take that out of the government's hands except for the enforcement of the contract that the partners come up with.
don't be daft. you know good and well that if we allow gay marriage it will only be a matter of time before everyone takes it in the ass. is that what you want?
I say this in every redundant gay marriage thread, but it never ceases to amaze me that half the people who are so concerned about how gays getting married will somehow ruin the sanctity of marriage….are themselves DIVORCED. Not judging people who get divorced (**** happens) but I just find it ironic when they are so strong in their beliefs about who should and who shouldn’t get married….when they can’t even keep their own marriages together.
Not true. I am a conservative (although not beholden to the ruins of conservativism that is the RNC). I (and others) see that "marriage" as the state defines it is there to protect property rights for property acquired during the union. To not allow all people access to these legal protections is wrong. Those that do not want the hassle of dealing with the rules and court intervention do not have to choose to enter into a marriage union. Heterosexuals choose not to legally marry all the time. Those that want the protections legally have them available to them. It is only fair to extend the protections to homosexuals. Equal protection of the law and all.
