I support Obama and I believe he is born in America. Basso and TJ I usually don't agree with. I also think there are a group of people that won't be satisfied even if they held the birth certificate in hand while simulataneously watching a video of the birthcertificate being signed. However, in this instance, they are 100% justified in being concerned that there is a significant effort to avoid the release of the birth certificate. Obama has absolutely done what is required by law. But clearly he views that the release of the certificate is more harmful than the concealment of it. None of us can judge what that harmful aspect is. It may be that he is just taking a stand against invasion of privacy. It could be he is taking a stand to say "how dare you even ask such a thing?" But the point is we don't know. It is ok to be curious about something you don't know. What is not ok, IMO, is to make definitive statements regarding the reason for the concealment of the original birth certificate. Once again though, it does merit widespread curiosity. That is not necessarily a bad thing unless the curiosity is based solely on something negative (racism, etc).
State officials had verified Obama's birth records when the question was raised before November's presidential election. Then Hawaii’s health director said in a statement this week: "I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008, over eight months ago." brantolini -- the article you quote is just simply wrong. Above is a very recent quote from the key Hawaiian administrator that has seen the ORIGINAL and has it under lock and key. Again, if you can't keep up with the discussion, just sit on the sidelines. Thanks.
why won't trader_jorge tell us why he constantly searches the single males over at match.com? the world demands an answer. there is nothing better than reading a thread like this first thing in the morning. really reminds me to thank god i'm not a ****ing lunatic.
yet more: In an e-mail, according to the Times, Klein wrote that CNN researchers had determined that Obama's 1961 birth certificate no longer exists because Hawai'i officials had discarded paper documents in 2001 — a claim denied yesterday by Isle health officials. In 2001, Hawai'i's paper documents were reproduced in electronic format but "any paper data prior to that still exists," Health Department spokeswoman Okubo said. Okubo would not say where Obama's original birth certificate is, but said "we have backups for all of our backups." seems likely there IS an original paper BC, and while it may not be in a VAULT, it is being withheld from the public. further: The law further states that the Health Department "shall not permit inspection of public health statistics records, or issue a certified copy of any such record or part thereof, unless it is satisfied that the applicant has a direct and tangible interest in the record." Those who have "direct and tangible interest" are generally limited to the person named in the record, the spouse, parent, descendant, or personal representative, or by someone who is involved in marital, parental or death litigation involving the named person's vital record or other legal reason established by a court order, and various official agency or organization representatives, including the state director of health, according to the law. it is inconceivable to me that Obama, in this instance, does not meet the "tangible interest" standard. bottom line, the original exists, Obama could gain/has gained access to it. why won't he release it? linkage.
as a gay fella or as a birth-tard? neither, in fact, but i empathize with the former, and sympathize with the latter.
You didn't choose to be a birth-turd, you were just birthed that way, don't be ashamed. You are loud and proud.
from CNN: Asked about questions by some conservatives about whether Obama is a U.S. citizen, Giuliani laughed and said, "We've got better things to do than that." "I've actually seen a birth certificate that kind of satisfies me that he was born in the United States," he said. "I don't get the issue. I don't know why they're pushing it as far as they are.… To pick false issues like that hurts us more than it hurts the other side." http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.co...ns-need-strong-leader-against-obama-policies/
Idiot, She specifically said that she has seen the "original vital records," which are digitized and stored in a database. The Certificate of Live Birth is a recreation of the original using the data in the database. You are wrong, as usual.
The official The_Idiot quoted said that she saw the "vital records," not that she had seen a paper copy. (see, I can play the silly semantics game too)
do you think the information in the digitized copy generated in 2001 is different from the information in the original paper copy?
This Obama guy is tricky. He hasn't released it because he knows that this non-issue will continue to distract the simple minded members of the right. Leaving him to only have to worry about the those conservative figures who have legitimate concerns about this country and other pertinent issues. He knows that Democrats won't always get it right... And Republicans won't either. But, if those that blindly oppose every policy that he presents are distracted by non issues, then meaningful dialouge can take place. And CHANGE can happen!!! O' Freakin Bama... Who woulda thunk it???
I get it, it was a conspiracy by the bureau of vital statistics who knew the messiah would one day run awaayyy in a manager no crib for a bed, the little boy obama laid down his sweet head
It's fascinating to me that 6 months+ in we're cycling through the election era attacks on Obama. With all the policy questions out there and all that needs to be done, the best the Repub Party can do is offer up is stale birther nonsense, to call Obama a reverse racist, and to hope that a Big Pharma/corporate led push can kill health care and maybe dent Obama politically. No realistic policy proposals. No coherent message to the American people. No leadership. Kowtowing to talk show nuts. Relying on corporate money to take on Obama because they're too disorganized to do it politically. Fringe political beliefs couched in religion. Hard to believe the Republican Party is now a minority.
