^ are you sure that's the same document refrenced in the previous poster's quote? It doesn't appear that way.

That is the copy in question. As for better rebuttals...it pains me to actually treat this seriously, but eh.

Northside there is no reasoning with these nutjobs.

Facts mean nothing to them. Answer their question and they will find another. They don't want to accept Obama as the president.

i've stated at the beginning that i think it's likely the question is moot, since he was certified by the EC (the resident constitutional expert has refused to weigh in). however, the ObieWon has gone to such lengths to confuse and obfuscate that one does begin to wonder what might be lurking in those docs.

Basso, your stance on this issue is not completely unreasonable. But even if you distance yourself from the idiots out there, your stance legitimizes them and brings the garbage up time and time again (which other certain posters are sure to jump on). More or less, unless you think Obama is not a natural born US citizen (which has been nicely refuted in many articles), I really don't see what he can be hiding in there. It has been policy lately for political candidates to withhold personal information that is not necessary for their political post, so unless you have a tangible reason to believe in an Obama conspiracy (and other then the contested notion of Obama's citizenship, there really is none), it would be in my opinion a big waste of time to bring this topic up time and time again for vague notions.

Even all the crazies that are sponsoring the birther resolution voted for that.

my favorite is his mom posted his birth in the newspaper because she knew her baby would one day be president and she didn't want anyone to question his birth

Yeah, you keep dancing around the question all right.

Do you believe Obama is a natural born citizen of the United States?

    yes or no?

what you mean it's not complete? like theres supposed to be a page 2? what information are missing from the certification? his full name, his parents' full names, birth place, and birth date. what else is missing?

Right, so Obama chose to hide his BC for a random and no apparant reason. THEN the wing nuts went over the hill to question why he hid it. Thanks for clearing that up.

well, officially, my stance is it doesn't matter whether he qualifies as a NBC- the EC certified him, so that settles it (again, just MHO). but there is a pattern here, Obama's Harvard record, MO's thesis, the BC, that it seems to me there's been a lot of effort put into to befog his, and his wife's background. i'd like to know why, and i think that's a legitimate question, setting aside for the moment the constitutional issue.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paralepsis#Paralipsis

    [rquoter]
Paralipsis, also known as praeteritio, preterition, cataphasis, antiphrasis, or parasiopesis, is a rhetorical figure of speech wherein the speaker or writer invokes a subject by denying that it should be invoked. As such, it can be seen as a rhetorical relative of irony. Paralipsis is usually employed to make a subversive ad hominem attack.

The device is typically used to distance the speaker from unfair claims, while still bringing them up. For instance, a politician might say, "I don't even want to talk about the allegations that my opponent is a drunk."

absence of a second form of document does not make the first form of document illegal or incomplete

what basic information does a typical birth certificate should contain?

what does your's contain? why does Obama's have to be any any different?

are you sure you are not a birther? coz TJ's a proud birther and the both of you have exactly the same argument
