Then we can get Kobe with AB+Tmac (I know they might not be intertested with Tmac but AB is definitely a rising superstar that every GM will chase). We will finially have Kobe and Gasol next year.
Umm...Well just to let you know Yao Ming is the best center in the league, if you don't consider Tim Duncan one. I believe He is a top 10 player in the league as well.
I don't think AB will become a star pg in this league. He doesn't have the passing ability of a Kidd, Deron, Pau, Chauncey, etc. At best he would be a Mike James in his prime imo. (I'm just hatn'n) I don't really think the Lakers will give up Kobe or Gasol for anything atm since they are doing so well. Unless they come up short/underachieve once or twice maybe.
No, but that is not prove who is the better center. 1994-1995 All-NBA 1st Team C: David Robinson All-NBA 2nd Team C: Hakeem Olajuwon Unless you think Robinson is better than Olajuwon, All-NBA team proves who has had the better season.
Yes...this is very necessary. I hope Yao dominates Okafor again and watch how everyone is back on board...
Point noted, thank you. But my definition of "best", "great" or "elite" for Yao is that he has to be able to dominate the 4th quarter of a game, especially play-off games, at least more than 70% of all the occasions. Tim Duncan a great player. Yao should study and learn his play - in particular using the backboard for his shots; Yao don't need to "swish" every shot.
Unless they get the ring this year, we will always have the chance to obtain Gasol and get ride of Yao this summer.
True, but he has done that in the past last season and under JVG. This season has just been completely different, due to T-Mac being out for the season and much newer players. Do you think Howard or Yao is better then? Am i Fortune teller or something?
Yep, and Yao usually does pretty good against Duncan offensively and defensively. So far this season he really hasn't, due to Aaron Brooks, but he should be fine. This is exactly why we are not an elite fan base in the NBA. We have too many fans that are bi-polar and nobody believes we are good after we lose.
sometimes i see it, the way it's going, aaron to yao is gonna be what sam was to akeem. but again adelman is no rudy.
In order that Yao can be more effective, especially in the 4th quarter, I think Coach Adelman has to better manage Yao's PT. I often see Yao played a whole quarter which is too long for Yao's size, not to mention the much faster pace in his motion offense system. Last game vs Lakers, Yao played two stretches of whole quarter plus 3-4 minutes into the following quarter. When I saw Yao came back in the 4th, my immediate gut feeling was that he would have another "unclutch & poor" 4th quarter play. Unfortunately, that was true. As long as Yao's PT is being managed in such a low standard, more Yao sucks in the 4th quarter plays will continue. How long would it take for Coach Adelman to figure out this weakness in his coaching? I may be subjective but other than athleticism and assertiveness, I think Yao is better than Howard in other aspects. But assertiveness is very important in sports, especially fast-pacing sports. For example, if your play is guided by your "sub-conscious" mind rather than the "conscious" mind, you reaction would be ahead of and you will out-play your opponents.
Yao is no Hakeem and AB is no Sam I Am. Well Aldeman is closer to Rudy than the other two to their comparison.
Duncan has lost a lot of his explosiveness. If you don't think he is in his decline you clearly didn't see him play earlier on in his career.
uhhh....if yao had 3-4 rings or whatever and multiple mvp's, then i wouldnt really care about the rockets losing to the lakers, cause i know come playoff time they'll be ready (spurs) cant say the same for yao and the rockets
