There was a big article in the Chronicle last Sunday about people picking gas based more on convenience than price. I've never understood why people get worked up over half a dollar, but again, maybe that's why I'm not stinkin' rich!
In ABQ, NM, I just paid $1.61... I usually go to Sam's Club and it's typically around $.05 to $.10 cheaper... I remember when gas was under a buck in the early 90's before the Gulf war, but even after, it came back down...
Back in my day... I remember paying 89 cents/gallon in 1994. I drove a gas-guzzling 1973 Ninety-Eight Olds that got less than 10 miles/gallon, so I was very thankful.
on I-10 And Gessner near Memorial City mall, there are two Shells across the street from each other. On 290 and tidwell, there are two shells across each other.
I remember it getting as low as 87 cents in houston back in 99. As for now i paid 1.81 for premium today at one of the cheaper places around. This is about as high i think i have ever paid but it seems like it will be going up even more.
