Notice I said 'unnecessary' un·nec·es·sar·y /ʌnˈnɛsəˌsɛri/ Show Spelled [uhn-nes-uh-ser-ee] adjective, noun, plural -sar·ies. adjective 1. not necessary or essential; needless; unessential. If you need it for work, then it's necessary. Someone needs to learn to read.
Dude really? You commute 150 miles each day? Where do you live? I think regular is $4.50/gallon here in SF. I fill my tank like once every 2 months though.
It's pretty crazy that everywhere in Europe people don't find it necessary to have big trucks and get by.
I have a hedge in place* against the price of gas. Gas goes up, I make money. Gas goes down, I lose money. *Park and Ride bus fare
It IS pretty crazy, if you conveniently ignore all the trucks used to haul commodities to market (or to rail stations), heavy equipment to jobsites, etc...which is kinda what I was sorta you know talking about. Let's say I need to haul 2 tons of concrete, a trailer load of rock, 20 head of cattle, a 25 ft. trailer load of hay, or a skid steer/bulldozer/tractor. How do you propose I do this?
I'm pretty sure he's referring to people who live in a city, not people who need a truck because they own land. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/CVdMySWfAIQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Well, yeah. That's kind of the point. I'm not going to haul my family around in a Toyota Corolla so that the person who runs a red light and plows into me doesn't get hurt.
All I could think of while watching this is how much I want to smash that lady's face in. I probably fit in the category of someone that doesn't necessarily need an F-150. I don't live on a farm and I don't have a job that requires it. I do use the bed primarily for work around the house (hauling rock, mulch, wood, etc.). It's a weekend thing. I do feel much safer with my family in it than the PT Cruiser I traded it in for. On the weekends that i don't need to drive it, I drive my wife's Outback, which obviously gets much better mileage. It's not like I'm driving a dually or a 4x4 that gets 2 mpg. I get average around 17 in the city which is just as good or better than most SUV's. Certainly better than the smaller Cruiser I was previously driving...or even the Ranger I used to have. So, I'm going to keep driving it to and from work and wherever else I deem necessary whether I use the bed/hauling part of it or not...and I'm going to enjoy every second of it.
Really, you guys need to stop being so poor. Work a little harder and stop whining about being poor. Love, Tosh
Oh, I thought by "everywhere" he meant "everywhere". When I was in Houston I always shook my head at the people commuting into Greenway/Downtown in an F350, was always fun watching them make 5 point turns in the parking garage.
I know, I hate that lady. I wish the guy would have revved his truck every time she opened her mouth... that, or pointed out that she's hurting the environment by eating as much as she obviously does and her car would be more fuel efficient if she weighed less.
I'd take a 7-Series BMW or a Lexus LS460 over the SUV counterpart. Smoother drive, handling, and acceleration.
That's exactly what I was saying to myself while watching it..."Dude, rev your engine. C'MON...DO IT!"
who gives a crap what anyone drives? the only thing that matters is you respect other drivers. the ones i hate most are the idiots with a sense of entitlement who think their time is more valuable than everyone else's.
