Might be an ulcer. I had one that I believe started my senior year of college. Stress from biochem, my last 2 semesters of school, and my father passing away certainly didn't have a calming effect. I actually would take beano, thinking it was gas or just stomach ache. Turns out I was temporarily relieving the pain from my duodenal ulcer. They suck, but glad I got it taken care of. Advice, go to family practicioner, get a physical, and that includes blood work and they will be able to tell your iron level. If it's low, u r losing some blood somehwere. The doc will then send you to a gastroenterologist and he will fix u right up.
Prolonged abdominal pain is usually a sign to see a doctor. If you're over 30, you might need periodic colonoscopies to make sure everythings okay.
try going to a gasterentoligist (sp?) and dont eat or drink anything that day and they have this test where you blow into a balloon and they analyze your breath and see if there is any bacteria in your stomach, which could be causing the abdominal pain also, i would suggest a little excercise, a healthier better diet, and the consumption of one or two fiber pills a day along with a multi-vitamin like centrum also, there is glycopyrolate or something and if you take it 10-15 mins before you eat, then you should be ok as far as abdominal pain, but u need a prescription if all else fails, take some heart burn meidcation, gas ex, or prilosec
The gas pain went away yesterday, but I'm sure it will come back. When? Who knows. It doesn't happen very often, but is very uncomfortable. I never take antacids. The dump can do wonders, but it was already going away by the 4:55 squat. There is some really good advice and it is all very appreciated. rocketteen, Sorry about your Dad. I'm sure that was a tough time. My son is in college now and he certainly doesn't need any more distractions.
