Where is this idea coming from that guards are supposed to be post players? Yes, I understand MJ developed a great post game and Kobe has a good one too, but the majority of guards do not play in the post.

Well there isn't too much to differentiate guards so you have to look outside of the box.

If you don't want to count post play, really, what skills does Wade have over Joe Johnson?

Joe Johnson and Wade are big for guards so it would be to their advantage to play in the post. Wade is not that tallest guard but he has the bulk to push point guards and smaller shooting guards in the post.

Wade has one of the best mid range/pull up jumpers in the game

    Lets compare their skills:

    Dribbling: Wade > Johnson
    Defense: Wade > Johnson
Driving/Penetrating to the rim (just the act of getting to the basket)
    Wade > Johnson
    Finishing: Wade > Johnson
    Outside Shooting: Johnson > Wade
Mid Range Game: I've seen a ton of Wade's games and I've already stated what I think of his ability in this category but I do not have a lasting impression of Johnson's mid range game so I can't really compare the two, although I feel Johnson is the superior overall shooter.

Johnson is no slouch, and the two do share similar skills but Wade is superior in most of them

Are you on crack? Let me guess, you are bashing him because you are in love with Coattails Bryant. Sorry, but Wade put a MUCH better season statistically this year than Kobe.

This is Hollinger on his 2008-09 season:

    http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/players/hollinger?playerId=1987
"He led the NBA in usage rate while generating quality shots. Thanks mostly to the fourth-highest free-throw rate at his position, his true shooting percentage of 57.4 ranked 11th among shooting guards. Creating shots for himself was only one part of the equation -- he also came in third among shooting guards in pure point rating and often slid over to play the point.
He delivered an amazing season at the defensive end, too, leading all shooting guards in blocks per minute and ranking third in steals.

Remarkably, the 6-4 Wade blocked 1.3 shots per game and ranked 16th in the entire league. On a per-minute basis he outblocked more than three-quarters of the league's power forwards, and nobody under 6-7 came within screaming distance of his rate.
Scouting report: With a lightning-quick first step in either direction and the dribbling skills of a point guard, Wade is virtually impossible to keep out of the paint because there's no good way to play him on the pick-and-roll. Each choice presents a problem: It's difficult for a guard to go under and get through in time to meet Wade on the other side; switching exposes a big man to a staggering quickness mismatch and he's become an expert at spitting pick-and-roll traps, blowing open the whole defense and usually resulting in a dunk or layup."

I feel like we need a Wade refresher video, a mid range video at that...

He's listed at 220 pounds, which is heavier than the average shooting guard. He can bully his way into the paint and then use his athleticism to shoot that turn around jumper. Adding a post game should be a priority of his seeing that at 28 he's not getting any quicker or athletic.

That's not really that unusual. The average wingspan for a guy in the 6'4"-6'5" range like Wade is 6'9". So Wade's only has a couple of inches longer wingspan than average.

    Truth.

I can't believe it took 5 pages in this thread for someone to realize the most ridiculous part of GP's statements.

GP was a trash-talking, cocky, arrangant, egotistical little s*** who suddenly got REEEEEAAAAAL quite when he missed shots or lost a game.

The shocking part of the statement was that GP even knew there was such a word as "humble".

And BTW, he can thank most of his steals to the referees refusing to call illegal zone defenses during their games.

    Not a fan.

Wow, Budinger has a very small wingspan for his size.

GP's career *****s on Dwayne Wade's at this point. Your talking about one of the greatest pg's to play the game. Him being cocky is irrelevant, being that Micheal Jordan, Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlin etc..all had a certain level of arrogance. You must be a Wade fan, being that your hating on GP because of his honesty

You're delusional. GP's career ****s on the career of a guy with a Finals MVP that has finished near the top of the MVP voting for the past five years?

Durant's handles don't seem any worse than Lebron's to me, they both seem to have this tendency to fumble balls forward all the time, then kind of scoop it up and score.

He also thinks Kobe's career surpasses Jordan's. Beats me what his criteria is.
