Durant's handles still aren't up to par. He sometimes has trouble getting to his spots because of it. He makes up for all that because he's 6'10, has long arms, and is a great shooter. He can get his shot off with little trouble. I'd still take Wade because he's a more complete player, but Durant can quickly close the gap if he improves his ball handling and his passing.
He was a top 5 pick? Wade is a superior athlete, not sure about player. Benefits greatly from the no handcheck rule. It's always funny when losers like you make things out to be much worse than they are... there were no haters when Wade was injured, unlike the commercials which make it seem like the whole world was against him. Who knows if he even rehabbed much with modern technology, look how well Amare came back from micro fracture surgery. The Glove has spoken, and he only speaks the truth.
He did win the scoring title, finish second in the mvp race, and is probably pretty close to favourite for it and this is only his 4th season coming up...
That's why I said he will be better in a few years but right now I can't put him ahead of Kobe Wade and Lebron.
One day you will feel the need to buy a Durant jersey to go with those Wade, T-Mac, Bron Bron, Howard and whoever else the new age of young player fans all like to love. I laugh at how defensive you get in any thread that has anything bad written against the Heat. GP speaks his mind and played with both, I think his opinion on the matter means more to most than yours... it was hardly disrespectful, he just said what he saw.
I would take it as a compliment if someone told me I didn't study hard even though I was among the best in my class. Get it?
I mean after this summer, how could you disagree. Wade's a talented player who craves the spotlight. What GP said was true. Kobe's the hardest worker in the NBA which is what him the best in the game today.
Perhaps Kobe is just the hardest working player that's had Spike Lee and a camera crew follow him around recording every mundane detail of his work day. Like others have said, you don't get to Wade's level without having a hell of a work ethic. I bet there are a lot of mediocre players in the league who also work just as hard, but don't have the natural talent. Also, I find it to be a real d*ck move on GP's part criticizing the work ethic of the guy who won him that ring he spent years so desperately chasing. IIRC, Kobe had a chance to help get GP that ring and shot his team right out of the Finals against Detroit.
Wade is actually closer in age to Lebron (two and half years older) than Kobe (more than three years younger). Also, what does his age have to do with him being overrated?
That sounds like hate to me. Hate for this entire generation of NBA players. GP: "Oh, they just don't work as hard as they did in my day." Shut up, old man.
I dont think he said Wade didnt have a work ethic. He said that Kobe's work ethic was the one he respected more, being more about business than show. Dont take his words out of context because your a Wade fan Karl Malone was injured, the team got outplayed. For you to put that on Kobe means you dont like him personally. Payton is speaking TRUTH. Truth doesnt pick sides
No, for me to put that on Kobe means that I saw him shoot under 40% in four of the five games in that Finals series but take more shots than Shaq (who was playing like a beast) in all but one game. Also, Karl Malone was healthy for the first two games of the series and scored a combined 13 points. I don't think he would have been the difference between losing 4-1 and winning the series even if he had not been injured.
As Gary said. . . HE WORKED WITH BOTH OF THEM so . . His word is a bit stronger than anyone's on this BBS Rocket River
Ummm there's a documentary directed by Spike Lee called, "Kobe Doin Work". <object width="445" height="364"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yM6DrmBW1iU?fs=1&hl=en_US&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yM6DrmBW1iU?fs=1&hl=en_US&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="445" height="364"></embed></object>
Let's not kid ourselves. With the biased officiating in that series, you could replace Wade with Luther Head and still win the title.
I remember this one play were he bumped into the guy at the top of the key and the other guy got whistled.
