of course kobe would have a work ethic more in line with payton's, he was more from that generation than wade was. he was drafted in 96 vs 03 for wade, that's a pretty huge difference right there

Im not kobe fan or a lakers fan....Kobe is the closest clone to Michael Jordan. Kobe is better than D. wade and lebron.

Durant works hard, he is humble and is all about basketball. Honestly I think Durant has surpassed Dwayne in terms of a better basketball player.

now this is just getting out of hand. durant can be better than wade in a few years, but he's not better than wade. did you even see the playoffs? durant was terrible. he still has a ways to go.

    be subjective.

Putting Durant over Wade in terms of basketball talent is a little pre-mature right now.

But if I had a choice of which player I'd want on my team, I would definitely take Durant.

Durant was better than Wade last season. IMHO Wade relies too much on refs calling fouls for him to be effective. Also he's benefits way too much from star power-he's travels and palms the ball way too much for my liking.

Also I think you meant be objective ;)

i dont doubt kobe works harder than wade but gp played with wade when he was a rookie i think. it's been a while and dwade prolly works a lot harder now. but maybe not NOW now. since he has lbj n bosh to fall back on.

Kobe IMO the best SG in the history of the NBA right behind MJ.

So you're unwilling to take the word of a player who played with both Kobe and Wade because he called Wade a "show player"? I don't know how much more credible you can get than a player who's seen both Kobe and Wade in games and in practice for an entire season each.

Just because you don't like what Payton is saying doesn't mean it isn't true. I'd take his word over yours for obvious reasons.

    this....

it's not like its barkley talking crap about his previous team. payton is just plainly speaking what his mind and heart tells him.

well every man is entitled to their own opinion. one day or two we might see shaq dissing kobe for his work ethic and praising wade for his

I don't know if this is any indication, but i usually base player dedication by their FT %, free throw is something you get good at by practice and practice and more practice

NBA Legends tour or something like that. They played against some of the older professional Filipino players.

There's no hate here...he just said kobe is a throw back when it comes to work ethic and studying the game, etc...and wade is more a showman...i dont see how that is not apparent. It doesnt mean Wade can't accomplish things obviously, since he's won a ring, but it's still an advantage for Kobe, and that's a big reason why he's won multiple rings AND has been a great player for so long.

I dont see the point to your follow up question. So what? That's not relevant to Payton's quote, as he was just on the right team at the right time.

It's well documented Wade and LeBron didn't know how hard Kobe worked, until they had the chance to watch closely in 08 Olympics, and that inspired them to work harder.

Kobe's the hardest worker in the league, you can take that to the bank. It's funny how sensitive a Heat jockstrap fan is.

GP may know what he's talking about he really doesn't have any reason to hate on either player. And plus he never said Wade work ethic wasn't there he just said it's not on Kobes level which may be true.

I think Wade is a hard worker hell you don't become as good as he is without hard work but I think Kobe take the cake with this one hes most likely in the gym as I type.

And it's also funny how you have to come defend every Kobe thread there is even when we are praising him for his work ethic. This is a Rocket fan board not a heat fan board. No one is a Heat 'jockstrap' fan but I know one Kobe 'jockstrap' fan.

Man Durant is really getting overrated on this board. There's no doubt Durant will be better in a few years but right now give me Wade every day of the week and twice on sunday.

Look like people are falling in love with Durant because its easy to. Nice guy, very humble, works hard, and says all the right things in front of the cam. All of that is great but he's still not top 3.
