Would be interesting to see what happens if they sign neal, withdraw offer on jennings (I'm assuming they made an offer). Where does jennings end up? Too bad kid is malignant & megalomaniacal...could have serious game if he didn't think he was already a max player.
here u go... UPDATE: Though there is very little today in terms of specific teams that are interested in former San Antonio guard Gary Neal, one Eastern Conference team has emerged as a possibility. That team, according to this tweet earlier today by Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times, is the Milwaukee Bucks. Other teams are sure to be involved in the Neal sweepstakes, and we'll be sure to pass them along once the information comes out. --- With the news Tuesday, reported by our own Marc Stein, that San Antonio is thought to be in the process of withdrawing their qualifying offer to Gary Neal, lets take a look at some of the places where the sharp-shooting guard could end up if he does in fact become an unrestricted free agent. Stein writes that "all signals suggest that Neal, after strong play in the NBA Finals, is sure to be snapped up quickly once he becomes a free agent." We have to believe that teams that might be willing to do what it takes to add an experienced shooter like Neal to its roster could include Memphis, Oklahoma City, Chicago, Golden State, Washington, Detroit and maybe even rebuilding teams like Utah, Charlotte, Milwaukee and Philadelphia. We'll keep you posted when we hear further details.
You may not know this, but guys who play for the minimum usually aren't exceptional in all facets of the game, and aren't "2-way players".
I gotta believe (if money being offered is equal) that the Wizards and Grizzlies would have the edge. Wizards being his sorta hometown team, Grizzlies being a winning team with a clear need for a player like him. Hope he finds the right fit.
Garl Neal to join MIL at 2 years 6.5 mil DeJuan Blair to join DAL at 1 year 1.4 mil Spurs are really losing some useful pieces.
DeJuan Blair never really played for them. I wouldn't say he's much of a loss. And Gary Neal is easily replaceable. He's just a shooter. They signed Marco Belinelli this offseason so I'd actually say they probably upgraded. Spurs will be just fine if they can stay healthy.
