It's stupid because you shouldnt be making that comment in the first place...this thread is purely about his health. If you want to talk about his coaching, be more tactful and do it in another thread.
Yea McClain was on the radio saying something about the numbness is gone. That is scary to hear, that parts of his body went numb. Sounds stroke like
I didnt know he had numbness...then yeah, headache and numbness points more towards stroke than any of the other differential diagnoses.
They said he passed all the stroke tests. The pain/numbness was located strictly in his side and lowerback. Which is a common kidney thing. Either way, scary as hell and I was very worried the entire night too.
Yeah, I told my wife that it appeared to be a stroke. The same thing happened to my older sister. Thank God he was able to get immediate medical attention.

He was heavy on my heart this morning. I can only imagine how the Texans players must have felt during the second half last night. Tough, tough situation. It takes something like this to suddenly put things into perspective and realize how hard these men work and how much they put on the line for their team. You can see why Bob McNair always goes to bat for this man when he comes under fire. Praying everything turns out OK and he's back to work this week.
Yes. And if it was a blood clot in the brain, which could typically cause the excruciating headache and hypersensitivity to light, it's basically a form of a "stroke". With any ischemic event, the earlier they caught it, the better his prognosis is.
I wouldn't see him coming back any time soon, not could I see doctors recommending it. I also thought it was dumb for the texans staff/coaches to say that he was merely going in for "precautionary" issues. Sounds like he had a clot affecting blood to his brain busted. That's certainly is not "precautionary". Maybe they were trying to put the team at ease... But they really had no basis to make such statements.
Or maybe it did seem like things were fine. They did take him to the hospital as a precaution and that's where they found out it was more serious. That's not an uncommon scenario.
He collapsed on the field. He was going to the hospital regardless. I just don't see the benefit of announcing anything at all till he's gone through all the tests and been evaluated (unless they were trying to put the team at ease).
Correct. Sounds like he had an ischemic stroke, which is what TPA is given for. Basically, a heart attack but involving the brain instead of the heart. I can only imagine what he and his family are going through. That really sucks. Football aside, he seems like a great guy and I wish him the absolute best. I can't blame the players for the loss...well, other than Randy Bullock. He deserves to be fired.
If something like this is going to happen to you, it couldn't happen at a better place than an NFL football game. Medical personnel everywhere. Kubiak is very lucky this didn't happen in his office at 12am or something like that.
I think they were trying to put the viewers at ease... They didn't want people thinking they just watched a man die on an NFL broadcast.
No one really knows what the official diagnosis was(or even if one was made)...so it really is speculation to think otherwise. As per reports, the have ruled out exhaustion as a cause for the collapse. And if he did have a stroke, he wont be with the team for a while, if not the rest of the season. Praying that this isnt the case...There are so many causes to feel lighthead and dizzy. First they wanna rule out causes of the heart and strokes...then they look at other causes. The fact that he will remain in the hospital for a bit could mean that he still doesnt have a proper diagnosis for his collapse, or that it was a major reason like a stroke. Praying for the best...gosh this season has been so weird...
