Exactly. I don't like Giannis for various reasons (Harden diss, etc) but he's a legitimate MVP, and easily one of the best players on earth right now. If you appreciate basketball, gotta respect greatness
Agree! Capela did develop well and ended up being a really good pick. I remember Capela insisting that he come over to NBA when Rockets wanted him to stay overseas a little bit (am I recalling it right), he took ownership of his own development, didn't complain, and learned to play with Harden effectively (run to the rim, play defense, catch lobs, etc) Here's hoping Garuba does the same but I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't. I don't think Capela is the norm and many late first round picks don't necessarily pan out. We had 4 1st round picks and if 3 of them pan out, that's not bad at all
Too early to tell with Garuba but the fact that he at least already dominated the gleague is a good start. It’s a foundation.
after you mentioned, i watched the highlights. Played only 12 minutes for Spain which is understandable at this stage of his career. Right now he is a G-league player and giannis would destroy his skinny a** if he was on to defend him. Let us not get delusional.

No idea how good Garuba will be in the NBA long term. He clearly has the talent to be a good to very good defender. However his offensive game is really up in the air.
