nice, but i heard g league is every man for himself, no passing and no nothing just just guys isoing and play no defense
Garuba is the starting 5 on the Vipers. Which backup big on the Vipers do you mistakenly believe is better?
I guess the question is - what is it Garuba is missing to get more meaningful minutes on this roster? I feel like we have hardly seem him this year and in the minutes we have seen him, he appears unable to dribble or shoot so his only offensive skill is rolling to the hoop. He can pass, but since he isn't a threat at anything else, he's not going to get a lot of opportunities to showcase that skill so he largely is a net minus offensively. Defensively, obviously he has shown some promise but he has also shown he picks up silly reach fouls. I think that's why Sengun has had more consistent minutes because at least he is a net positive on offensive even if he is prone to bad fouls defensively similar to Garuba. ...so in order for Garuba to pick up some minutes he is going to need to develop at least one positive offensive skill so he isn't a negative offensive player and then he is going to need to adapt and play smarter defense so he doesn't undo his positive defensive value when he commits fouls. I think the defensive work he needs to pick in game situations but the offensive work he is going to have to work on in the G league and in the gym - he's gotta find a place where he is effective - either a place where he is a decent shooter, or maybe learn a few moves from the dunkers spot but essentially he has to find a way to give defenses a reason to guard him so the rest of the team isn't playing 4 on 5....and finally - we gotta trade Wood(and Theis) to free up minutes so Garuba can get reps. I personally don't think Garuba is going to be a star of any kind, but he can be a solid defensive specialist on a good team so he is worth the investment in time for us right now until something better comes along....and frankly if we have a top 5 pick in this year's draft, that "better" may come to us in the draft later this year.

Garuba is a +13 vs. Kabengele who is +8. There is a reason Garuba starts and Vipers started winning again. And FYI, Kabengele is going to be 25. According to the geniuses on CF, he is too old and doesn't fit timeline. And I was one of the few who did not want to waive Kabengele when he was acquired.
Garuba with block, rebound, run length of court and no look pass for the flush. Monster running the court.
We never lost a game Kabengele played. Kabengele hasn't played since November thanks to an injury and COVID protocol. Personally, I think both are putting up pretty good G-League numbers. But yes, he'll be 25 later this year... far far too old and decrepit for the Houston Rockets.
That makes more sense, i saw that there were a couple of games that Kabengele was not on DNP list but didn't play.
Garuba as I predicted showing that he will be an excellent NBA passer. Remind yourself that 99.9% of the time he's the youngest player in the highlights. Be honest, he looks and plays like the oldest player all the time haha.
