He sounds like a perfect third string PG. He is big, runs offense decently, great defensively, quick enough for his size, doesn't hesitate to drive and can shoot the three. He is a perfect 3rd stringer.
I was hoping we'd keep him. With his size and defense, he's a nice change of pace at the point. Are we seriously not keeping him? Is there some financial reason not to? I don't see a basketball reason.
temples a good defender and for those who dont realise it were lacking sum d right know plus i like his hustle if it was up too me i say keep him plus since cook is gone we got an oppening
My gut tells me they're going to bring Conroy up and keep him the rest of the year. Conroy is Lowry's replacement next year. We are either going to sign and trade Lowry or match an offer and trade him at the deadline. That is if Conroy produces. And I have a feeling he is going to produce when he is brought up, especially now that Martin is clicking.
Sign him, if we're still under the lux line. I was impressed by his defense on Deron Williams. A 6'6" combo guard is unique and if developed, could cause huge mismatch problems for the other team.
He definitely deserves to be here for the rest of the season. He may not be flashy but he is sound and makes the right decision most of the time. It also doesn't hurt that you can throw him out there with Martin and Ariza and have insane length on the perimeter. 6'6" PG are an asset.
I think they just want to have some flexibility. If Lowry is back, or if Conroy is available for a 2nd spin, no need to spend extra cash on Temple, who is fine, but not exactly a hot commodity FA or anything. If AB or Lowry goes down this season they can always go back to Temple at that time.
Not if he gets signed by someone else for the rest of the season, and then re-upped by them next season, etc.
In that case, good for him. Like I said, it's not like Temple is a hot commodity (and I assume the Rockets front office has much more detailed knowledge about the marginal NBA player FA market than you or I do).
