Other than coming back from the dead, calling animals, and creating light, I can't think of any magic Gandalf actually does. Coming back from the dead is cool and all, but basically the dude has no offense.

We don't know about Gandalf's parents but we know about Magneto's parents.

We could use that against him. Make him cry, or something.

Does Gandalf have iron in his blood? If Yes , Magneto would boil his blood.

Not to mention . . Magneto would simply magnetically call all those rings to him at once.
Or simply make a big ole volcano that would destroy the whole shire

Magneto is no punk . . . plus he has seemingly come back form the dead a time or two himself. . .

Ah, Señor River, you speak the truth again, sir.

Still, I don't think we have enough IRON in our blood to sustain any damage from Magneto's powers.
You mean just breaking a rock resembling a bridge?

No, there was more to it than that. I won't spoil it since it appears you didn't watch the whole movie or set of movies.

My memory is dim now -- I remember some fighting, but not much specific about magic. Sure, killing a demon with your bare hands sounds impressive, but I'm sure Magneto would have kicked that demon's punk ass too.

Very true, on the iron part... Mystique had to inject the prison guard with excess iron for Magneto to siphon out of him.

and... the bridge scene was the highlight, there was more to it... see if this rings a bell

cmon, man. He smote his ruin upon the mountainside, or somesuch, after chasing him (after being yanked down) down the abyss and taking it to him with his sword.

I'm not really picking a side and didn't vote, but to say he had no offense.... I disagree.

Gandalf doesn't have modern weapons. His staff is made of wood. He has a sword but I doubt would need it. And he defeated a freakin' Balrog! Plus he can't die. And I doubt he would have enough iron in his blood for Magento to manipulate.

    Gandalf wins.

To whomever said Magneto could be killed by lightning : Magneto can just throw up a forcefield. And doesn't the electromagnetic force hold molecules together? Hello. GANDALF GO *POOF*!!

Gandalf is about the wussiest wuss that ever wussed. Magneto can collapse a planet on itself - what's Gandalf going to do? Beat him over the head with a stick?

    Magneto >>>>> Gandalf.

I think the confusing . . . MOVIE Magneto over Comic book Magneto

Comic Book Magneto is more powerful than movie Magneto
[He could manipulate the iron in your blood . . .]

Doesn't matter if you cannot die. . . if you encased in iron and cannot move
much less say any magic words. . .you kind of toast

    Rocket River
Iron Casket then throw it and Gandalf into the ring killing volcano

Movies bastardize everything. Comic book Magneto is the only Magneto there is. :(

Movie Magneto was a wrinkly old man Shakespearean actor. I love Ian McKellen but he wasn't right for Magneto at his age. X-Men: First Class got it right. All-time great cinematic villains shouldn't have to worry about falling down in the shower. They should shoot pocket change at their enemies.

    wtf?

Magneto needs a freaking helmet to beat an old man in wheelchair.

Hell, freaking Treebeard would crush Magneto, too.
