Use it as an excuse to buy a new one! The Xbox360 version should be enjoyable too - I played Oblivion on Xbox360 it was great.
that hasn't really stopped Steam before. But yeah, I'm probably going to go ahead and pick this up this weekend anyway.
Well it didn't take me long to get the "You can no longer run because you are overloaded" walk of shame.
I only pick up stuff that has a 1 weight to 10 gold ratio or better. That helps. I'm really enjoying the game so far. The quests make a lot more sense. They're not 'go to this town and get me 5 tomatoes' type quests.
dang it. My game got shipped the day before release from Amazon but it hasnt arrived yet, wtduece!?! Guess Im stuck on 2k11 or WoW, fook
Man, lots of LOW textures in this game. Oh well, old engine. This would be amazing on something new, like the frostbite engine.
I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up on the CHRISTMAS SALE for Steam. Probably something like 25% off.
Got a Mangia pizza, a handle of Baccardi and an old old Morrowing throwback to play the game this morning, each playing a dungeon at a time. We both felt felt pretty silly when we kept casting zombie summon into the ground? ... Where's the zombie? hmm
Done for tonight. I did a few quests, and managed to get up to level 5. It's been a blast. If I didn't care about keeping my relationship healthy I'd still be playing. Mostly I've been leveling in blocking, heavy armor, and one handed. Sneak and archery probably get the second most leveling. Lockpicking and speech have each gotten a few levels as well. I haven't been doing any spell casting, other the occasional clairvoyance. I'm going to start using healing though. It's been a blast.
OK nevermind, it is steamworks. Just got back from gamestop. Installing now. this was probably a bad idea.
Some awesome bear physics in the game: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/sTgUm8VEWiU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I need to quit reading this thread and checking out videos.
I'm a mage, not a pack mule, and it shows... But then gain, it's pretty damn fun to be a human flamethrower.
What race/class are you guys using? Am Argonian, the non-human races look bad azz in Skyrim. Gonna build a hunter/thief with bits of sword skill.
I'm a Redguard. He's pretty cool looking, and he's good with 1 handed weapons. I don't use magic too much, but occasionally I'll use healing or flames. I'll also use the clairvoyance spell from time to time. I really want to get a house so I can start storing stuff and make a ton of money. Sometimes when I travel, I'll get separated from my horse. My horse, by the way, is a badass and charges into every single fight no matter how tough the opponent is. He killed a novice mage at one stop.
I haven't gotten a horse and I'm level 5 - is that bad? I just made a trek to Winterhold that took forever. My sidekick Lydia and I are overloaded, but I've been spending most of my money on training and spell tomes. It also seems there aren't very many random encounters in between cities. By that I mean, just creatures wandering around that you can jack. BTW, the most fun I've had so far was taking down a Giant. I kited him all the way from Secunda's Kiss to Whiterun's entrance, where I ran him in loops up and down the city's outer walls. Guards were either running away scared or they were trying to help and getting slaughtered. When they'd engage him, I'd dump everything I had into flames and torch him. Giants have a TON of hp, but then I was only something like level 3 or 4 when I did it, so I was also a bit of a wuss, I guess. The first time I took him on, he whacked me with his mallet and sent me into orbit. I'm not even questing - this game is hilariously fun sometimes.
I'm level 11 and don't have a horse, so don't worry. I'm spending everything on training. As a Nord warrior I've got some carrying capacity, but my armor's freaking heavy. Luckily Lydia can carry quite a bit too. I'm doing the Companion quests officially, but really I'm wandering around seeing what kind of trouble I can get in to. Got whacked by a giant as well. Funny seeing a Superman impression.
It's great to see how people are all playing it differently. I guess that's the great thing about the game. It fits everyone's playstyle.
