My son is addicted to this game. I can't get into it since you have travel some dragon ball distances.
Picked this and Borderlands 2 on BF for 25 dollars ea, but have only played it once. I looted too much stuff and got heavy, then almost made it to my first town, but I slid off a cliff and got stuck between a crack. (Kind of like 127 hours) turned off the game and went to borderlands and haven't gone back. Maybe soon though. Good character to use? Used the cat person when I got stuck.
Dang that sucks to get stuck in the games geometry, that has never happened to me and i've put over 80 hours into the game
Finally got my platinum trophy the other day, getting 1000 bounty in all the holds was my last acheivement. Got a level 55 Breton Astoundingly addictive game, but the PS3 dlc situation has me all sorts of pissed.
If you go mage class, you can get pretty OP pretty quickly. I invest all my skill points into enchanting, and eventually you can get to the point were spells dont cast any mana. put everything else into health, and the whole of skyrim is essentially screwed.
Me, too. Fortunately, I have a massive backlog of games, so I typically wait for the Game of the Year editions before I purchase anything new, which means I get wind of buggy games well in advance. That said, I'm really hoping they get the PS3 kinks worked out soon, because I really want to play Skyrim. Everything I've read indicates Bethseda is still working on it, so there's hope, I guess.
Anyone played the Dragonborn additional content? I will definitely get it at some point, but not at present. I'd love to hear if anyone has any comments on it.
I just started playing this two days ago. Any words of advice? I'm a dark elf. My desire was to specialize in magic and stealth. Any tips for how to be better in these aspects would be appreciated. What's the best way to make money? I'm not that far into the game but it's pretty annoying how little money I have. And what's the fastest way to power-up your character? Last night I contronted a giant and its mammoth about 20 times with the hopes of killing it/them. But I stood no chance. I'm more used to the games where you can "level mash" and develop a strong character early on.
I have the exact character, but instead of magic, I used bows. Be in sneak mode when in dungeons/caves, until you are found/attack. Join the Dark Brotherhood, and Mages guilds to bump up the areas you want to work on. For the money thing, I just loot corpses and sell items, or when you join the thieves guild, you can steal and sell to a fence.
Cool. Thanks for those. Something I'm curious about: does my joining a particular guild/group/whatever mean that I can't join a certain other guild/group/whatever? I wouldn't think so but I don't know how this series works.
You can join all the guilds if you want. Not sure how patient you are, but when clearing a dungeon get everything. Whatever you can't carry put somewhere, any place where you can store items works. The items will usually still be there when you come back if stored. Takes multiple trips and can get a little boring but I'v never had money problems.
Easiest way to make money is to just do quests you receive from townspeople, guilds, and such. You get rewards from them from completing the quest, as well as all the loot you pick up while you're doing the quest. Either keep the loot to use or go sell it at a shop. Money becomes incredibly easy to get once you get going. And in regards to leveling up, you can't go particularly fast. You pretty much just have to keep working on certain skills, level those up, and over time you'll get higher. Skill books are big helpers though. And giants are some of the most powerful things in the whole game. Killing those just ain't gonna happen any time soon for you.
Clear locations of everything of value and sell them. If you pick up too much and cant run, find a clearing somewhere and drop a bunch of the heaviest stuff and make your companion pick it up....they can carry unlimited amounts. Easiest way of making money. I'm still waiting on GOTY version to play the DLCs. I did damn near everything on vanilla Skyrim so it's on the shelf till GOTY comes out. I'm working thru Fallout:NV edition with all the add-ons when I get time to actually play a game.
If you gain the ability to summon 2 dremora lords, the game is pretty much over .... at least on Adept difficulty. lol. Even without them, the game became way too easy. Not sure about other types of characters - just speaking about destruction/conjurer types.
I've played pretty much every style, and sneaking/archery is by far the most fun in my opinion (something so satisfying about slow mo zooming for the kill shot). If your PC can handle it, I highly recommend it. The mods for this game make it a whole new experience. In fact, some modder is almost done with a mod that makes whole of Cyrodil (the area where Oblivion takes place) explorable and populated.
