This was a classic game. One for the ages if you ask me. Now we pick ourselves back up again and get it done.

I thought the winning HR was a fastball... and it looked like he located it properly, Podsednik was just waiting on the pitch.

:( We have to win 3 with Oswalt, Backe, (most likely) Rodriguez/Astacio on the mound vs Garland, Garcia, Contreras....

What pitch did Pujols hit out???

After that, everybody was clamoring for more fastballs... seriously, the flip-flopping that's going on here is moronic, to say the least.

Pick one side and go with it. Lidge got beat... the Astros got beat twice tonight... the umpiring sucked... and we have some work to do at home.

    fastball

and Posednik just confirmed that he was looking for one

Hickey may need to look at some tape ...maybe Brad is tipping his pitches .....traditionally, his slider is not a "strike" pitch if you don't swing at it and lately, they are not swinging at it as much as they usually are

Actually, I'm still not sure if they were the better team. The White Sox are just getting ALL the breaks.

Oh well, the Astros have been in this situation the whole entire year. Nothing new for them.

Go to the north side of city then. There are plenty people not happy for this win up there.

it wasn't really a fat pitch... the ball was located down and in, but Pods was looking for it. He was able to turn on it and belt it. Just tough luck and the fact that Lidge doesn't have his A stuff late in the playoffs.

What a heartbreak. I am really bummed, but the series isn't over yet. We are coming back to Houston, The Astros were never going to do this the easy way. That just hasn't been the kind of season they've had.

Ok the series is far from over, they're just as bad hitting wise as we are and garland has been mediocre the second half of the year and garcia is beatable as well. At this point, I'm worried about Lidge's confidence and psychological makeup but by no means are we out of this. We have Roy oswalt up and that is as close to a guaranteed win as you can get so I have faith in that one. Also, if Backe was really solid last time (giving up only 1 hit I believe?) so I can definitely see us taking two out of three in houston and sending this back to Chicago.

Pujols hit a HANGING slider....but clearly people are sitting on Lidge's fastball, as it is much more hittable than his slider.

Qualls and Lidge both have nasty sliders, and good fastballs....I prefer to go with the best pitch...and if you get beat...you get beat.

I am glad we are going home, but winning 3 at home is gonna be tough.
