absolutely ...in every single game critical situation late

you don't abandon a guy after 174 games because of two HRs, no matter how big they were

you abandon him now, and you'll mentally ruin the guy, maybe for the rest of his career

can't wait for Lidge to be in this situation again ...he has PROVEN that hell succeed far more than hell fail in these situations

I can't wait to hear Jim Rome try to worm out of this one. His Jungle Karma prophecies are officially dead.

He's got to throw the slider for strikes, at least sometimes. Hitters must be reading his release or something. I didn't see this pitch. My guess is it was a slider that stayed up. Is that correct?

They didn't suck in that 18-inning game.

The series isn't over, the Astros aren't done, Ausmus isn't washed up at calling games and Lidge hasn't lost his stuff... GET OVER IT PEOPLE! Stop crying over it like pansies... THE BETTER TEAM WON, they had CLUTCH hitting and Tuesday is another day.

In fact, The Eck was on the mound when the A's won the Series over the Giants the following year.

Chicago just won the two games they were supposed to win. The series is not over so you guys need to calm down.

What a roller coaster that 9th inning was. I guess we haven't exorcised all the demons of past playoff disasters.

Gotta look at it this way otherwise I'll never sleep tonight:

If Roy and Pettitte win the rest of their starts this series, all we need is to steal either the Backe game or Game 5 AT HOME to win the World Series.

Forgetting how crappy our 'pen looks right now, that's sounds pretty doable to me.

(OK, maybe I can sleep now and not projective vomit all night)

p.s. At least we know we can hit Jenks now. Of course, they know they can hit Lidge, too...

If the Astros dont come back and win this series Lidge cannot pitch again in Houston.

Thousands people will be booing his butt off I dont care if he goes on a an Eric Gagne streak. He's done in this town if they don't come back.

Also, if Lidge wants to get people to respect his fastball more, he has to throw it UP and in......not over the middle....

Lidge's confidence has to be shattered right now....

I hope we give him some chances at redemption in minute maid......but damn this hurts....

Not to sound like a cheap movie script, but we've made it to far and it's too early to give up on this team now. We can get 3 at home and push this series to Pettitte and Oswalt in 6 and 7.

You know that prick is smiling somewhere right now.

Chris Meyers: "The shot heard 'round Chicago."

Well gee, that sounds about accurate; at least the Astros will go home knowing no one outside of part of the Midwest and Southwest gives a **** about this series with the ratings.

No pressure Houston -- sweep at home for the Astros: Houston WILL go up 3-2
