how in the HELL do you make that call, ball was a good 2 inches from his arm and if he got hit, he would reacted like he got hit. unbelievable. but no way should qualls thrown a meat pitch to konerko.

then that strikeout pitch to berkman was about 1/2 foot off the plate.

whoever the hell the homeplate umpire is doesn't need to be working the WS. you simply can't miss calls like that.

Dye's reaction wasn't that he was hit, he simply looked back at the ump... he didn't run towards first or anything after regaining his balance. Regardless of what Dye did umpiring 101 teaches you that a downward trajectory could never mean the ball hit the player...

The Umps allowed the Astros to get themselves into that position. If the home plate Ump had made the correct call it would have still been a full count on Dye. What happens if the next pitch was a swinging strike? We would still be up 4-2. A single to the outfield would have been a tie game. We wont know what the outcome was suppose to be because of a bad call.

I just hate the fact that Ozzie Guillen is in line to be up 2-0 in the WS. That guy is a friggin joke of a manager. Yesterday he's giving shout-outs to Venezuela while being interviewed in the dugout and then he gives that stupid fat and tall motion to the bullpen and everyone thinks he is so cute. He's not cute. He's a friggen idiot with the mind and professionalism of a 10 year old.

Jenks has a 2.75 era folks. That means he can be hit. Let's go get 'em.

Sort of reminds you of Lidge walking Edmunds before Pujols....our bullpen has not been that good the last few games.

At least we have Roy going in game 3.......but then after that we are hurting.

If Bags and Lane can homer in the 9th. Then they are indeed gods.

DaDa, it kills me to see you being so pessimistic here. They still have a frame to go with some decent bats up. Also, I think the Astros should sweep or at least win 2 out of 3 at home, and they'll be in the series before all is over. Remember we were down 0-2 to the Cards last year, but we found ourselves up 3-2 after the home games. We didn't finish the job last year, but I like this year's team better.

I'll never count the Astros out. They could still make this one interesting(although I'm not holding my breath). What I'm concerned about is Game 3. The Angels never recovered from that horrific call in Game 2. Thank God Roy Oswalt is on the mound on Tuesday.

If I remember right on the pre-game on ESPN radio, they said up 2-0 wins 77% of the time in the WS. Give or take a few percent, I don't remember exactly. Not good numbers for the Astros.

The only thing you can 'blame' the ump for is changing the outcome of the game. Who would have won if he'd gotten the call right is moot now, but its silly to say his call DIDN'T affect the outcome.

If we don't come back Chicago will just have held serve in the first two games. Roy in game three changes the series.

The Chicago White Sox are 10000x luckier than USC right now.

Ozzie is actually a heck of a manager. I think he has a lot to do with their success this year.

I mean what the hell's the argument?

Wheeler had pitched like crap up until that point and it was only a matter of time before dye would of gotten a hit, walked, or done something else other than recording an out.

You take care of business before guys like Konerko (and the infamous Pujols HR last series) come up to the plate.
