Well they nearly pulled the choke of the century to Clevland in the last 2 weeks.... That call on the hit batsman was HORRID......but Qualls should not GROOVE a fricken fastball on the first pitch.....that is too easy....bad baseball all around. DD
You need an early strike. So I don't mind that so much. Qualls is gonna be low in the zone so an early strike is good. Especially with the bases loaded. He just hit the crap out of that ball.
What a choke job by the ump and Qualls as well. You can't blame it all on the ump, but that was clearly a foul ball and would've given Wheeler a chance to get out of it.
John Lopez said something kind of interesting .......he said "the White Sox are playing like a better version of the Astros"
Apparently, he hit a batter to be in that situation, not walked him. But, I agree... the biggest mistake of the night was the walk to Iguchi. I know the guy can hit curveballs out of the park, but doesn't take fastballs yard. If Iguchi ties the game up, fine... but you don't let Dye or Konerko come up with the chance to beat you with men on base.
I still like our chances. But Oswalt has to win now. Backe can still lose, but then it's clutch time. Everyone has to come to play for three games.
That pitch to Dye would have been ball four had it not hit him (or the bat). I'd say that Qualls' pitch was the one that hurt us.
I just can't believe it was a ******* grand slam. Why does it always have to be a freaking HR in these situations. Couldn't it have just been a damn single to tie up the game? My wife must be about to call the cops after all the four letter words I screamed back there ...
Well I can officially say "I think we're in trouble"...without Clemens possibly for the series, we are seriously handicapped...
Dude... they've lost ONE game the last two weeks... and they swept Cleveland to end the season. They're just playing hot baseball... I don't believe Qualls GROOVED one... he was trying to get ahead with a first pitch strike. Asking him to pitch carefully with the bases loaded is playing with just as much fire.
