At the start of today, Willy was batting 0.400 with power in the postseason. He saved at least one game for us with his speed running up the hill and scoring on a short sac fly. His job is to get on base for Berkman - and he's done it really, really well. Yeah, it's unfortunate he's not an RBI guy, but that's why he's at the top of the order. Willy has to stay out there, especially in a situation where their hitters keep putting balls in play all over the field (which will happen with Backe). Maybe with a strikeout pitcher, you can sacrifice defense, but not tomorrow.
It seems to me that Hernandez must have a pulled groin. He's been pulling on it every pitch. Geez, get a room......
Willy's good hitting the last two games got him that shot... Garner really believes in hitters being on good streaks.
i think willy should've bunted w/o it being a squeeze. if he gets on great, if he doesn't, oh well. maybe they make a bad throw trying to get him and burke trots in. maybe they don't even bother throwing knowing burke might come home. but now that will never happen.
You see how this game and series goes for us...El Duque after striking out Willy T and Ensberg issues a four pitch walk to Palmeiro..where was that last inning geez.
Lidge has to bat here. With the offense choking like this, Astro's need to be prepared for a lot of extra innings.
