great call ump. didn't look like a swing from the damn center field cam even and you call it a swing. i swear ensberg is like the yao ming of the astros. he gets more bad strike calls than anyone i can ever remember. it's like they live to screw him and they have all season.
i think you leave Lamb in. they've all looked pretty bad against Cotts. but Lamb has power...and we need that.
OK, Mike Lamb -- are you ready to go down in Astros history? The name Billy Hatcher mean anything to you? LET'S GO (Or Burke
I will say the crowd has been sorta weak tonight. Even when the players were announced it seemed dead. I think roof just makes it louder. And if the Astros feed off of that loud energy, then they should be able to have the roof closed. This will be another loss with the roof open. There HAS to be something to it...even though the roof didn't hold Pujohs Homer in the park......
I'm not trying to blame what's transpired tonight on one single thing, especially this. But does anybody else feel that if that roof was closed, with that little extra noise it would have provided, that maybe that could have been just the little extra juice Oswalt needed to perhaps carry him through that inning and get out of it still with the lead. I might be stretching but still... that decision helped neutralize the effectiveness of the 10th man. Maybe it wouldn't have made a difference at all. But then again, maybe it would. Don't forget, that these players were used to the roof being close for the better part of 2/3 of the season and the postseason. And they fed off that noise (this season and last) And what's even more frustrating and more painful is that every one of these games we could have won, every single one. But somehow, someway, the Sox manage to pull it out. That said, I'm still not giving up, not until the last out of this game and the last out of the WS. We had to sink to rock bottom before reaching 7th heaven. With this team, anything's possible.
Lamb is lightning in a bottle. I'd leave him in there. It's not like Cotts has anything other than a fastball. At least I haven't seen anything.
Burke... But, I have to say if the Sox hold on and win tonight and probably the series they have earned it. I mean their lineup is great, their pitching is not as good as ours, but it ain't bad.....and their hitting is MILES better than ours...MILES !! I want us to win, but I am starting to get that sinking feeling that this is the Sox year. DD
I was on a plane from Houston to Nashville during the first two hours of game... The last update the pilot gave us was 4-1 Astros.. I was in such a good mood... Then I get off plane and it is 5-4 White Sox (in like 6th inning)... talk about a change of emotions
