Roy + Home Cookin + First World Series Game In Texas = Astros Victory If you have tickets be there and be LOUD! 8-6 Good Guys
Time to play my role ! Roy is due for a bad game....Whitesox get all the breaks.... Sox 6 Sros 3 On their way to a sweep of the Astros. DD
We've been in these first two games even though Clemens went out early Game 1, and the Relievers geeked Game 2. We have still been in it!!! Hopefully some home cooking and fan support will have these boys win 3 straight at home and then we can finally pull one out in Chicago. The biggest worry I have right now is about wether or not Clemens will be able to go Game 5. If not some one will have to step up BIG TIME!!! The stage is set to finish off the series in the dramatic fashion they have done all year. Go Stros! We still Believe in you!!!
unfortunately 2 out of 3 almost isn't good enough I don't like our chances at all having to win both games in chicago (aka 2004 NLCS... i know i know, we had clemens on half a day rest or whatever, and munro in game 6). need a sweep and it's gonna take some magic to get it.
I think the two out of 3 in Houston is the tough part. We have Oswalt, Backe, and most likely Astacio. If we can get through that and force this thing back to Cgicago, we get yesterday's matchup again in game 6. We know we can win that one. Then we get Oswalt vs. Garland again in game 7. Assuming we win tomorrow, we know we can win that one too. To win this series, we have to win games 3, 6, and 7, and then we need the game of his life from either Backe or Astacio.
as i stated in game#2 the astros don't have enough hitting.... i know the Atlanta/Cardinals had better hitting than the astros and yet they lost.....BUT the thing is luck is something that does stay around forever.
I agree about Astacio, but not Backe. He's pitched great in the playoffs in the last two years. Game 3 in the 2004 NLDS, game 5 in the 2004 NLCS, game 4 in the 2005 NLCS were three absolutely phenomenal games. Even game 4 of the NLDS this year he only really made that one horrible pitch.
Damn, there is never this kind of optimism after the Rockets lose...Oh well, to lighten the mood a little... What was wrong with Brad Lidge's car door? He couldn't close it. What does a Brad Lidge slider have in common with a fat plumber? Both have a big crack at the end.
In game #2, the Astros scored 6 runs. In general, that's plenty to win on a team that's designed around pitching.
they scored 6 runs last night. coming into the world series, they had the highest post-season batting average of any other team. we've had those great lineups before...with names like Alou, Everett, Bagwell, Biggio, Caminiti, Beltran....they've never gotten this far, with all that firepower.
Game two hurt, that was winnable. The bullpen really blew it. Roy O. better be on his game. If the Astros lose, the Chronicle can start dusting off the RIP tombstone.
