Another ****ING HIGH FASTBALL.....where has his curve ball been this inning....oh, I know....he hasn't thrown it enough. Ugh !! If we lose tonight, we lose the series...no doubt. DD
He got Konerko out on it, and he won game 6 with it... at this point, his fastball is the only pitch he has confidence in.
To be fair, this is not the same Roy as the one that pitched against St Louis, his fastball is not as electric, and his slider is not sliding, and his curve...well, we have not seen it enough..... DD
ok, these guys have GOT to be stealing signs or something. it's like they know where every pitch is going before they get there. this is kinda ridiculous. i just cant believe that they're hitting our pitchers this well, taking good pitches, fouling off even better pitches, getting great first pitch hits..... it's just a little to uncanny.
He needs to change speeds more, that is what makes Roy...the best...30mph difference in his pitches... Right now the fastball is 94 and his slider is 88 too close they are zoning in. DD
Or, it could just be that the AL has better hitters up and down the lineups than most NL teams. Seriously... after Pujols, most of these White Sox would be the second best hitter on the Cardinals... yes, much better than Edmonds.
No kidding. You'd think people would get tired of whining "game over" every single time the Stros face some adversity.
Its what made him the best from 2001-2003... then in 2004, they caught on to that pattern... and most of this year, you've seen him pitch differently, not using the slow looping curve (that can actually get nailed if a hitter guesses right). It got him a sub 3.00 ERA, and threw everybody off... but it requires more control, which is what has really failed him tonight.
