Just another day in the life of the RGV Vipers -- 11-26 from three-point range at the half.

Interestingly though, the Energy are trying to match them. They shot 21 threes in the first half (made 8).

Isaiah Canaan has 15 points, was a perfect 3-3 from three in the first half.

Canaan just hit a bomb from about 6 feet behind the three-point line. He is now 8-10 from the field, 4-4 from three for 20 points, 6 assists, 5 boards... still 5:20 left in the third quarter.

With the Vipers' new style of play, it is difficult to compare how Canaan and Covington are doing with respect to other Rocket players that have been reassigned to the D-League as well. If anybody has a good way to extrapolate with respect to pace, I would love to hear how they arrive to that conclusion.

Also, isn't the D-League a good place to practice defensive rotations and "the little things" so to say? Doesn't seem like they are stressing that this year...

His shot is so pure; however, his lateral movement leaves something to be desired. Nevertheless, it should be something that can be hidden with Dwight's defensive presence around the paint.

How good do you expect a bunch of young guys to be defensively as a team who just started playing together...???

Canaan may force someone to get traded. I doubt he'll be in the D-League all year.

Not good, agreed with you. Just seems like playing the Suns fast-paced offense with not much concentration on defence.

It's a good place to work on one on one defense (which is something that Canaan and Covington need to do). The team offenses and defenses are generally much less complicated and dangerous than the NBA and thus, it doesn't translate as well.
