Game is tied, but a decent job of damage control by Wandy to get out of the inning with only 2 runs especially when it was bases loaded with nobody out.
Right after Lane hit it deep enough to move Ensberg over from 2nd. Great to see the team manufacture a run.
Yea... if he gets thru the 6th unscored, that will be a quality start. Now that I said that, he might get bombed...
Nice inning by Wheeler. Berkman, Ensberg and Wilson are due up in the bottom of the eighth. Hopefully they bring a run in.
Being a home game I believe its going to be Lidge. There will be no more save opportunities so U just pitch the closer and hopefully win it in the bottom with the last at bat.
With a man on 3rd, less then 2 outs last season, in 59 ABs Lane had 18 RBIs. I don't know what the rest of the league did, but that's a god-awful ****ty percentage...and it's carried over to this season.
According to this http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players...EXrHoheL2brCfqM3CFCLcF?year=2005&type=Batting He had 32 at bats, and 20 RBIs, which is about a 60% success rate. I dunno if that's good or not, but that's much better than your numbers, if accurate.
Pinch-hit Burke for Willy T. here... there's no point in seeing Willy T. bat in this situation. Nothing good will come of it. (attempting to put the jinx on pretty hard here...)
fyi, milwaukee up 2-0 early. i'd love to see em spoil the cards opener.. the brewers will eventually come down below us. for now, they can beat the cards up some (i'm stuck at work and i don't get the game even on mlb.tv because it's a "local" game in the DC metro area..sucks! One of the few day games i could stream at work and it's blacked out..)
someone shoot me. just when (after last night's good showing) i was thinking lidge was over his crap and he'd be alright.. d ward comes back to haunt us.
