As a pinch hitter in his first at bat? Yes. But his HR in the 18th was "technically" a pinch hit HR, as he came in for Berkman...except it was 7-8 innings later when he finally hit the HR. :p

Are you one of those guys when you tell someone to do one thing, and they always do the opposite?

    Astros > Nats

Everyone is, but why change forums and try to fire up some Astros fans?

Move toward the light, it's a much better place. Join us as we root on our Stros. The Rockets are going no where but down in '06.

I love my Rockets, but I know when they are out and slowly of the last 6 years or so the Astros have been moving up as my favorite team and baseball becoming my favorite sport to watch/attend.

    Yep.

    Pettitte:

It's not his arm. Health-wise, he's fine. But he may still be just a bit behind in terms of regular-season strength, considering he took it slowly during Spring Training after resting an extra month of the offseason.

"I feel great," he said. "That's probably another reason why I'm so frustrated. I do feel really good. My arm's feeling really good. But I'm still out of sync. My command's terrible. I've got no cutter right now. I'm just trying to get through it."

    and Qualls:

"I was trying to put the ball in the dirt and left it too high each time.

"Probably the most frustrating pitch was the 0-2 [pitch] to Soriano. I was trying to throw a slider down and away, and I threw it down and right in the middle. I was trying to tell myself, 'A slider in the dirt.' But I guess I was overthrowing."

He's been using Qualls-Wheeler-Lidge in the 7th-8th-9th for the past couple of years, with some rather decent results.

Bad execution and/or bad results does not make it a bad decision.

    Because he's a troll?

Really? Are you still considered a pinch hitter after you've played a position? Can you have multiple pinch hits in a game?

Just curious. I've never heard that before.

Yep, headed down to the BUS for some pregame festivities here in a few minutes.

    Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit's a beautiful day for a ballgame
    …for a ballgame, today.
The fans are out to get a ticket or two
From Walla Walla, Washington to Kalamazoo

It’s a beautiful day for a home run
    But even a triple’s okay
    We’re gonna cheer
    And boo
And raise a glass or two
    At the ballgame, today!

Either way I think Burke hit a pinch hit HR in game 1 of last years NLCS off Chris Carpenter. :)

I'm going to go ahead and take credit for the HR today. Had I not traded Berkman for Patterson/Street, he would've struck out. :D

There you go! Don't let Lance take the lead.

I wouldn't complain if Preston Wilson hits a HR every time Lance does :D

Perhaps those "crawford box specials" will even out in our favor... we're still way behind, mainly thanks to 2000.

I wish we would have had Berkman all year last year.

Oh well, he's making up for that lost time so far.
