Preston WIlson is hurt! Looks like his groin... NO, he was elbowed in the nuts by Nats first baseman. Lane walks for the 3rd time today! WOW>
Wow is right! Lane and walks whats going on? Well if we hold on we will be 4-2 and back on pace to win 108 games! Go Astronauts!
Damn... what is up with the Astros pitching right in these guy's wheelhouse when they get two strikes?!? Soriano is a free-swinger... put that ball in the dirt.
Man it sure is nice to be able to watch the Astros on Sunday...that hasn't happened in a long while it seems.
I don't think Ausmus is calling for these pitches to be thrown middle in, right in the power zone... but he is asking Pettite (and last night Oswalt/Qualls) to execute their pitch in the general viscinity, but do it in the dirt. The pitchers have missed... and when you miss in that location, you're screwed.
I could understand Andy's velocity being down , but it is really surprising to see him miss on location. He has always been a real good location pitcher, especially that inside corner low. I cant understand why he is missing with his bread and butter pitch.
Go Chris Burke! Gotta find him more playing time somewhere... (or work him in a trade for another SP...ahem, Zito... while his value is still high).
BURKE! *adds another to his HR Tracker* Pitch 1 - Foul Pitch 2 - In play, run-scoring play Chris Burke homers (1) on a fly ball to left field. w00t
win's a win of course but not exactly lights out pitching by pettite again course, it's nice to see the offense show up for a second straight game too.
random observation: the Nats announcers are pretty good, entertaining, intelligent, and objective (TV ones at least). They were very complimentary of Bidge, Willy (speed/coverage in CF), Berkman (just drooling over his hitting all game). Some other things of note: They thought the PReston Wilson signing was a poor move in the offseason. After watching him in the preseason and now, they believe that the leg injuries that plague him last year and the year before are behind him and he looks "healthier than he has since he drove in 140 runs" (or however many it was..they had the figure). They thought Adam Everett may not be our fastest guy ("would get killed by Willy Taveras in a foot race") but he's our most intelligent baserunner, they say. They liked him running out a potential DP without looking up at the ball/play..and some other stuff on the basepaths. And he was obviously a pest overall to the Nats today. And mentioned that Bidge had both the speed and the intelligent baserunning back in the day (not that we didn't already know that)
not sure if i remember seeing this anywhere, but what's the official deadline for clemens to make a decision to come back to the Astros or any team?
me being a rookie, i cant make a new thread...but has anyone checked out the 2005 championship season dvd they advertised during the game today? i ran out to best buy as soon as the game was over to pick up a copy but they were sold out
