I guess Roy's not that much of a "pitch with a huge lead" guy... see game 3 of the World Series. Once again... so much for the "runs will be hard to come by tonight" argument.
This game isn't going on a very good trend... Roy is looking worse each inning, and we've already used our "one big inning/game" offense. EDIT: That missed DP better not come back to haunt us... that was tailor-made.
Pitch 3 - In play, no out recorded LANE!!!! Edit: Bottom 3RD B:2 S:0 O:1 Jason Lane singles on a line drive to left fielder Alfonso Soriano.
You and me both. I've already gone the free agent pool to shore up the OF till he starts hitting. The interesting thing. Lane doesn't have a single hit but still has a higher OBP than Everett did all last season. .294 vs .290. Oh, and don't you people think I'm hating on Everett. I'm fine with him as long as he is stuck in the 9 hole and can keep his average above .200. Edit: doh! Lane up way over .300 now on OBP.
Morgan just missed that HR!!! Triple by MORGAN!!! After his lead off triple.....we better bring him home.... Edit:
Lance = RBI machine (which only further emphasises the point that we HAVE to have our #1 and #2 guys in the lineup get on base any way possible... that was the basic key to having a weak offense last year).
We have no bats... and the pitching is stellar. We bring out the bats... and the pitching is horrible. Go figure.
Wow, Qualls blows. BOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo 9-6 Nats... What happened to wheeler? is he gone? I'd so prefer him over Qualls....
WTF?!? What situation are we saving Qualls for??? Oswalt was spent, its the SEVENTH inning, and Qualls is one of our top set-up men who has been good (in the past) with not allowing inherited runners to score. What would we be saving him for?
