well the runner was at 3rd and they didn't wanna face the next 2 guys...plus it sets up the DP while getting to the worst hitter of the 3 choices. not a terrible alternative for them
Deja vu anyone I was referring to that 14 inning game against the Nats last year when Bruntlett came through. He comes through again!
Great execution on Bruntlett's part. No need to hit it out. Just a deep fly ball was all that was needed. Play of the game is Morgan's bomb. Got Lidge off the hook and kept them in the game.
That was some interesting managing to close the game. Not like Bruntlett can't handle a stick. I don't know. Frank left himself to be second-guessed, but dayum, walking the bases loaded with only one out seems very risky.
Frank Robinson was out serving a one game suspension. It was some guy called Rodriguez that called that. I doubt Robinson would have done the same thing. O well worked great in our favor.
Frank wasn't on the bench for todays game. Looks like he'll get a pass on this one. Edit: Frank/**** blocked.
Don't really blame them, the 2 that he walked already hit HRs in the game already with Mo hitting one less than a hour ago. Interesting managing, but Garner probably wouldve done the same.
He gets a force at every base, he gets to pitch to much weaker hitters, and he loses nothing. What does it matter how many runs score, the only run that matters was Biggio. Great managing by the Nationals, just didn't go their way. Outstanding offensive start from the Astros. Anybody who watched the game: What was the deal with Lidge's pitch to Ward? Dead slider?
