When you have you hands straight up and you're jumping straight up, BY RULE, it isn't a foul. It's the same foul we always argue about when Yao gets called for it. It's complete bull**** because it bails out the offensive player when the defensive player is playing good defense.

I think the overall logic is that if you examine Bosh independently from other example and look at how he plays historically, he has been a number 1 option. The Raptors were built around him with support players that would do the hustle plays (dive for the ball, get the tough offensive rebound).

Now Bosh has to adapt to a new role so both of you guys are agreeing that he has to display effort in the defense and rebounding category of the game. But you are saying it should be automatic as it is an effort part while tmac 1 is saying that it will take time as he is not used to playing that role in a game. I think Dwade mentioned a similar thing that players will take a while to fill their roles.

KG was never an offensive-minded player. he came in the L known for his defense.

i'm talking about offensive-minded players who have never been known for the "little" things.

bosh was never known for that. but he has to do that from now on.

and you can see wade struggling with EVERY part of his game when he struggles offensively (and that's twice v. boston).

and you see that with plenty of other players. like aaron brooks. like yao ming. like ben gordon. and i can name a lot more.

only the truly elite all-around players overcome this. KG was and is still a great all-around player. bad example.

bosh was a star. but he was never an all-around great star.

    Effort is not a role.

NO... that's not tmac_1 is saying... He's saying you need some confidence by hitting some shots on the offensive end to compete on defense which is stupid. I know that as a basketball player that if I was struggling on offense that I wouldn't let up in trying on defense. Adapting to a new role has nothing to do with actually TRYING. Bosh will start trying when he starts to fit in and adapt to how the team plays on both ends? That really makes no sense.

effort is not but defensive and hustle effort is. Before bosh's effort was concentrated on the offensive end (hence, known as a bad defender and played on bad defensive teams).

Now the heat are asking him to primarily focus his effort on the defensive, hustle, and rebounding end which will require him time as he is not used to that.

Now you could say that a player like Bosh, who's getting paid close to a max should not need time but the reality is he will require it and so we can sit here and criticize him all day for not adjusting quickly but that's not gonna change the end result that he will take about half a season to get comfortable and play well in this role.

Are you ****ing kidding? He was the #1 option in Minnesota. He was an offensive-minded player there. He took the majority of the shots. You're naming one-sided players like Ben Gordon and Aaron Brooks who don't do **** on the defensive end anyway. You have some terrible examples for your case.... KG in Minnesota was a pretty good example. Garnett won the MVP in 2004 but he wasn't an all-around great star? OK.

Now Wade knows how it feels to be a role player on Lebron's team.

If this is the excuse that is going to be used to defend Bosh, it speaks volume about his mentality.

    One rebound game......

Completely agree. I think Bosh is their big weakness so you can sit here and criticize him all day and ill agree. Yet, the potential for success is there if he is able to adjust and focus his effort on that portion of the game

Ray Allen is a terrific all star player to have as your second option. Easily one of the best off ball players.

durant rebounds, in fact, he is the best rebounder on his team. he also gets about 1.5 steals and blocks per game and you can see that he puts in a defensive effort. he is also huge, and you can always do something with that size even without scoring, alley-oops, put backs, his size will allow him to do that without taking a jumper.

the same goes for bosh..hes not like a chuck hayes..you leave him unguarded and no one cares...him just being in there impacts the game. these players just have a hard time adjusting to a reduced role. they want to get their 20ppg but everyone on the team wants to get 20ppg so when they dont get their offensive output, they dont put in an effort at the defensive end as much.

but for durant, etc, they know they are the number one dawg on the team..next game they'll be putting up 30 shots so no big deal.

but for bosh? who knows...he probably thinks he wont get more than 10 shots per game anymore
