how about kevin durant? when he doesn't make shots, the dude is a ghost. do you even play ball? unless in the past this player has done other things besides scoring all the time, it's going to be a big adjustment.

how about wade tonight? dude is a ghost.

    Once again, bad example.

Durant struggled on offense against Lakers in playoffs but I saw him go for plenty of rebounds, deflections and blocks. I dont see any of that effort or passion from Bosh.

kobe actually rebounds and get those assists up when he doesn't score. kobe is an all-around player.

but look at wade tonight. his offense is off, he doesn't reobund or pass or defend like he has been.

and for bosh, it's even worse. even when he is off, he doesn't get the shot attempts to get his rhythm. yes, he should rebound and defend and do the little things, but sometimes offensive players get down when their offense is not up to par. it's natural for most players.

only the truly great all-around players can still impact games without their scoring.

bosh isn't one of them and never was. he has to start developing that.

Kobe was always good at things other that scoring, so no. And even when Pau was traded, he was still the 1st option.

b/c he could jack up 30+ shots even if he makes 8-9. now tell him he only has 12- 13 shot attempts and he struggles.

So now your theory has shifted from...

You need your offense to get get going on effort and defense.

    to...

You need to jack up plenty of shots to get going on effort and defense.

"Hey coach. Let me jack up 50 shots. I swear I will get your 2 rebounds."

    Please stop.

Refs knew he'd go berserk and get himself ejected. So they abstained.

omg ray is on fire right now. I would say 5 of them have been wide open but even going 7/7 in a game regardless of open or not is remarkable.

    Wow

Yes I play basketball and I am glad I dont play using your thinking.

"Let me jack up some shots. Hopefully it will get my effort going."

Since when have you needed to take and make shots to try on the defensive end? That's all mental... Giving effort on defensive rebounding and on defense really has nothing to do with scoring or doing anything on the offensive end.
