My bro called from Goldcup today after just talking to a close friend of Albert Pujols. This guy was from Puerto Rico and has a car dealership in Houston that Albert helped him get off the ground. anyways, he said he talked to Albert last night and he said Albert told him he was shocked that he did what he did against Lidge who Albert thinks is the baddest pitcher in the league, but get this, Albert was not as pumped up as he thought he would be when talking to him because Albert said they still have to beat Roy Oswalt who Albert thinks is the toughest pitcher in the league to face, right up there with Lidge. Roy's last 2 outings in St. Louis have been superb, he better have one more of those games left in him. The Astros game 7 is tomorrow night. They'll get it done.
I'm not sure Roy even flinched when Pooholes hit that bomb in the 9th. It's like he already preparing himself for Game 6. After his performance in game 2, I don't think this will phase him and I expect another lights out game. I think last night's loss is a lot worse for the fans than it is for the players. These guys are professionals and while I'm sure they are a bit disappointed, I think they are thanking whatever deity they believe in that they get two more chances to right the ship. And I think they know the that the two pitchers left to go have won 2 of the 3 games they won in the series so far.
LOL, I just heard some sound bytes on ESPN 790 from Oswalt following the game last night. "We're going to St. Louis." We got this thing. That dude is gonna toss a complete game shutout.
cool stuff in the sense that your bro knows a friend of a mlb superstar course not cool in the result of game 5 :\
i here watching around the horn and paige is a sucker lol i would love to be in that show just to shut him down with a bet of a thousand
Our offense was also alot better last year, this year's isn't even close to last year's production Honestly, I think it needs to get done Wednesday. Losing 5 and 6 and winning game 7 is unlikely. What really scares me more than anything in watching game 6 is seeing Oswalt throw fastball after fastball to St. Louis hitters. The last game he pitched had me on the edge of my seat on every one of those 95mph pitches. I say Astros win game 6, 3-2.
Some of you guys are over reacting, we still have a big advantage in this series even if we lose this next game. Think about it the odds of the Cards winning 3 in a row are very low...game 7 will be the hardest for them to win [if it even goes that far ].
yeah I saw that replay...Roy didn't even flinch, just gave a little frown and then went back to his normal expression. The guy is cold blooded...no way the Cards can even come close with Mulder.
Well.. To tell you guys the truth.. I never expected to win the game with Backe.. so I guess it's ok... because we would have been in the same situation anyway. (at least that's what I am trying to tell myself)
I disagree. The Astros were 1 strike away from winning 4 in a row. If the Astros can win 3 in a row, so can St. Louis.
Aggie, I'm starting to think you are the Debbie Downer of the bbs. Seems like you are always looking at the bad side of things. Of course I'm usually this same way, so I can't fault you for that. My depression and shock has turned to excitement and rage. We WILL win this series. I have no doubts. Roy is one cold blooded red-ass motherf$!%&
It would be nice if Biggio takes the first pitch from Mulder tomorrow and knocks it over the left field fence for a free trip around the bases. That would shut up the sea of red in the stands real quick.
What's weird is that John Kruk says that Houston is still in the drivers seat and that we have our "best" pitcher on the mound and will get it done. And Harold Reynolds now says that the Cards are in the drivers seat. Wow.. they sure have flip flopped.
Game 6 is going to be just as good as the previous games in this series. Neither team is going to blowout the other one. With that being said I believe that the Astros will find some way to win Game 6. No score predictions here- just an Astros victory tommorrow night. Remember- this team hasn't done anything easy this year, its always with high-drama. No exception for the end of the NLCS. And like before- the 'Stros will find a way to get the job done.
