My bad, I bumped then didn't reply. (yes, I am an *******) l may need to replace my strings soon as well. (G string is sounding a little funky). l definitely have some trepidation there since I've never done it before. I'm going to play today damn it.
Wish I could help here. AII I use are electrics might now. l'm sure you can find a good suggestion at guitar center. (or google if you're feeling adventurous)
I use one. It's a cheaper one that my wife bought me for Christmas so I could try and learn. This one. Only I'm a lefty, so I have a left-handed one. Sometimes it tells me to turn my volume up (even when everything is all the way up), but it seems to register okay.
really like the session mode. played with a friend and had a blast. Wish it showed the scales for both players in the session mode though. He was stuck winging it because it only showed the bass scales I was playing. Luckily he's been playing a while so it was OK.
Cool. I actually have a guitar with a built in amp but the game is not "picking it up" so I figure I need to get an external one.
seclusion You convinced me to look this game up... I ended up ordering a new original copy (w/ cord), a pickup, and a 1/4" coupling. It will be in later this week.. Thanks!
I definitely will. You should get commission haha. I haven't received it yet, but I ordered this one of $20 on Amazon. I can let you know how it is once it comes in. http://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Pickup...sducer/dp/B005H2007E/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Anyone have tuning issues with RS 2014? My electric tunes no problem with original RS, but 2014 is a process.
Wow, DLC is pretty expensive. ~$10 per artist pack. Anyone have the original Rocksmith but bought the DLC import anyway?
Wait a minute. This game works with bass? I have both an acoustic guitar and bass. This game would probably be helpful to me becoming more proficient at guitar. I dont really need the help learning on bass, but would not mind tryin to use it in a scenario like this just for giggles.
I've been playing again, it's been pretty awesome. Also I don't think the songs are overpriced; they have to pay licensing fees + developer time (each song seems to take a good bit of effort with the various difficulty levels and so on). Plus if you consider how much a song is to buy normally it's not too far off, and playing them is so much more rewarding than just listening to me. 64 hours in Rocksmith 2014 and counting...
That's cool! Can you tell if you've improved in your overall guitar playing or are you finding yourself to be proficient with certain songs? Also, I'm in the market for a decent guitar in the $100-150 range. I know squat about guitars so any advice would help.
Absolutely. I have flashes of brilliance now where I can get combinations that I couldn't. I've noticed the dexterity getting stronger in my ring and pinky fingers (on my left hand, the one I fret with) allowing me to play just a bit faster, just a few more notes than I could play before. After not playing for almost a month I was rusty initially (I've played a few times this week), but now I definitely feel better at playing than when I stepped away. I plateaued for a bit and perhaps that's why I stopped playing (along with life in general? and titanfall ' s beta didn't help either), but I feel like I'm passed that point now. I'm not where I'd like to be, but I still have brief very zen moments where I'm hitting everything and thinking "wow that sounds really good, wait...that's me playing!", and that makes it all worth it. As for a guitar; there's a good bit of advice on some of the other pages here. What type of music are you looking to play? I started with a squier (fender's budget line) telecaster, but I knew bands that play music I like use that type of guitar. Then I went from there. I feel it's very important that you get the right first guitar because if you aren't in love with it and the sound it makes you won't play. Done any thought on that front?
I know the game pretty much have nothing but heavy metal songs but I'm mainly interested in learning technique. I listen to a lot of alternative Christian worship as well as a range of other music but since I'm part of the worship band in our church I figure this might help me out. We play fast and slow so my main concern is just improving my ability to play the guitar. I just hope my strumming won't be affected too much because I own an expensive acoustic already and want to finally play it.
A squier telecaster / stratocaster will run around that much and will be a decent starting guitar. If you're comfortable with it, why not just buy a pickup for your acoustic since that is what you truly want to play? Were you unable to find one? An acoustic is slightly different from playing am electric anyway (distance between frets I believe might be strings or both).
