It was my understanding that the online play doesn't allow for World Band Tour mode. Just one on one coop or battle play.
I think the fact that I can't find a PS2 version of this game is a sign. I'm not supposed to get it. I'm supposed to buy a 360 or PS3 and then get that version. Luckily, we're swamped here at work because of the holidays and overtime has been approved. I guess I'll just work some extra time to soften the blow. I really shouldn't...but...I'm going to. After all I have a 42" plasma and I've never even played a good looking game on it. All I've seen is Wii and it looks like shiit in comparison. So, 360 or PS3? Haven't I asked this before?
Depends on what you like to play. If you like to play great games, then Xbox 360. If you like to play Blu-Ray discs, then PS3.
i'd easily pick the 360 but both are good systems. you can play rockband online, can't make an actual band i don't think, but can play any song with other people.
PS3 comes with a Blu-Ray player, free online (understandably less functional than Live), and the Wi-Fi is built in so there's no need to purchase an adapter. Plus the Wal mart bundle comes with 5 blu-ray movies. Those are all reasons why I would get the PS3. I spend far more time watching movies than I do playing games anyway.
that's fine, but then you shouldn't disagree with anyone who recommends a 360 for actually playing more games
Been thinking of getting GH3.....is it any good? Dont really want RockBand since it will just be me playing for now
I like it better than Rockband for solo play. It's more fun in my opinion. Rockband is great when you have people over though. We (well the people playing that is, my wife no likey) have a blast.
If you want all those features, then yes, that is not a bad deal. To get the 360, with the Wi-Fi adapter and HD-DVD player additions, you would likely be paying the same amount. The game options are a lot less on the PS3, but theoretically that won't remain that way. I have seen demonstrations of the Blu-Ray movies at Best Buy on really nice setups, and the picture quality is freaking amazing. So if you have a nice home theater system, go for it.
I would agree with this. Although, I must admit so far I find the drum solo tour as much fun and as challenging as the Expert mode on GH3. But in order to do that tour you have to buy the $170 package versus the $80 package or whatever GH3 is going for (less if you already have the guitar). GH3 is definitely fun for what it is...but for what Rock Band is, it is way better. But they really aren't playing towards the same audience, in a lot of ways.
I had GH1 on the PS2. I bought Rock Band for the PS3 hoping to flip it before christmas. I got lazy and never did (plus demand wasn't as high as speculated). Then when the wife said "I don't know what to get you for christmas" I ended up with a PS3. I like the guitar much better than GH and I really like the drums. I need a mike stand so I can sing and play guitar at the same time. I suck at guitar though cause I can only play on medium and once I set it to hard I'm no good. I can drum on hard though. I'm working on getting my 5 year old to drum and my 7 year old to sing while my wife sits in the room and shakes her head.
so GH3 over COD4? I have so many PS3 games and I just move from one to the other, looking for something thats gonna keep me coming back...after winning 8 Unreal games in a row...online play kinda got boring. May just get the new expansion for Warhawk
I guess this is as good a place as any to ask this question....but how do I get my stepson's Xbox 360 online? Like what do I need? He has Rockband and wants to download more songs among the many other things you can do online. Thanks for any help!!!!
By my calculations, 360 would cost me $629.97 (before tax) plus 49.99 a year for Live. That's for the console, wi-fi adapter, high definition movies, and online. Meanwhile PS3 covers all that and is $399.99 (before tax). Plus it comes with a choice of 5 movies. Am I missing something, or is that accurate? It's a seemingly huge difference.
Modem hooked up to router Router hooked up to 360 There should be an option to set up an xbox live account on the system itself. In order to download stuff, you just need a silver account (free) In order to play online, you need a gold account (depends on how long you get the account for, 1 year generally runs you 50 bucks)
if you don't care about the games and want the blu-ray player then get the ps3. it has rock band and you'll have your movies. sounds like the decision is already made for you.
