Yeah I was checking out the new music store yesterday and it was pretty nice. Theres a chart that tells you how difficult the song is on Guitar, Vocals, Drums and Overall. Thats pretty cool.
Has anyone seen the Expert drum chart for that new DLC song, Blinded by Fear, by the band At the Gates? The song sucks but I think it is pretty universally accepted as the hardest drum track on the game now.
Has anyone seen problems with lag after the update a couple of weeks ago? I'm having problems on songs that I could absolutely nail prior to the patch.
man i know i am going to sound like a total noob but i cant pass flirting with disaster on hard for guitar all the freakin hammer notes in the solo part kills me...the last song in the game i need to beat on the hard setting. (not including bonus/downloaded songs) ugh
Don't feel so bad. I probably couldn't beat the guitar part of the game on Medium difficulty, much less hard. Then again, I spend 99% of my Rock Band time on vocals and drums.
Don't worry. Everyone has that one song they can't beat. I've had the game since midnight on release day and I still have yet to beat Green Grass on expert on guitar. I can get 93-95% done usually but then I lose it.
how is the difficulty compared to Guitar Hero series? i beat those expert easily (it helps that i play real guitar ). i'm more interested in the drums though. i don't have a drum set, yet. kinda wanna try it out on the game first. is the drumming part fun? like real drumming?
I love Guitar Hero, and I have all the games (save for Rock the ****ties), but the drums on Rock Band are about 3x more fun than most of the guitar stuff on GH, to me. I love the drumming. The really difficult drum songs on Rock Band are easily as challening as any of the guitar stuff on Guitar Hero, also. I highly recommend it.
The guitar parts are for the most part easier than in GH. The last set is a bit of a pain, mostly "Green Grass and High Tides" and "Flirting With Disaster". The drums are, as far as I can tell, quite good. I've only tried the drums a couple of times though.
Okay, I'm finally on the last tier of Hard on drums...and I would just like to say... **** YOU RUN TO THE HILLS. **** YOU WITH A BIG RUBBER DICK RIGHT IN YOUR RUNNING TO THE HILLS ASS. My freaking hands just refuse to play that red-red-red beat red-red-yellow rhythm. It's driving me freaking crazy. I just have that song and Won't Get Fooled Again to finish out Hard. I haven't tried Won't Get Fooled Again, but the only song (other than Run to the Hills) that I have failed on so far is that Police song in this same tier, and that was because it starts out so furious I really wasn't ready. Beat that one my second try. But Run to the Hills continues to own my ass.
I just need to 5-star Run to the Hills and Train Kept a Rollin on Expert and I will have completed the 5-star pwnage of the setlist on Guitar.
If you just want to pass the song, not do well, one of my friends told me he passed it by just playing eigth notes on the red instead of the eigth-sixteenth-sixteenth. In non-musician terms, play two notes instead of 3.
Thanks for the advice, Nuggets. I might give that a shot if I continue to fail it out without any progress. I know that when I get this far on Expert (and I do plan on beating the drums on Expert) that I will likely need to be able to play this rhythm, so I'm going to try to play it as shown. But man is it frustrating. You're a drummer, right? Have you beaten the drum tour on Expert yet?
Yeah. RTTH is tricky just because the tempo slightly fluctuates throughout the song, but other than that I've 4 or 5 starred all of 'em.
I only have Guitar Hero for PC. I like Rock Band though, I just can't get use to that damn drum pedal. The guitar is a different story, I'm pretty good with the guitar.
