people overestimate the singing part. I can pass a lot of songs just by droning like an air conditioner to the right tone.
That's true...I do most of those on hard, but still if I dont' know the words, I can do the right tone and viola...I have a band with my girl and another with my girl and her kids...Pretty fun stuff...I need to download some songs...I must admit my favorites songs to sing are: 1) Creep 2) In Bloom 3) Wanted Dead or Alive
I love the concept of this game, but the only bad thing is I only know like 6 songs.. They need to make a R&B Star or Rapstar lol
NIN pack coming out tuesday (for 360) cant wait for that. damn i just realized that i spend around an extra 40 bucks for songs I downloaded. man i love this game though. it'd be great if they made a RATM, Korn, LP, Bush, Green Day or Offspring pack.
Yea, I thought about this too. Would be interesting if they came out with other genres for games and it's fun thinking of what instruments they could come up with for each (ie: violin & harmonica for Country Band).
the exact reason why I love this game, didn't really get into guitar hero because it was mostly metal songs and I'm a alterno guy. Once they released the Oasis pack, I was sold and bought the game and a 360 in the past week and loving it

THIS GAME ROCKSSS there's only ONE issue I have it on PS2, and I was wondering if they will ever have any new song packs for it or anything like that??? If anyone has a solution I would LOVE if you could let me knowwww. Thanks
i think message in a bottle is out today! yes! if they only make every little thing you do by the police that would be awesome
I really need to make time to play this game more. I haven't touched it in a few weeks at least...but not for a lack of interest. But Smash Bros. just got delivered today...so...
Well, we played this past Friday night and I still love this game..Of course, I love to sing (eventhough I really can't)...We've just did the tour and got the RV so we're hanging out in Seattle/San Fran, etc...
from what I know, the downloadable content isn't available on PS2, its just a port and the songs on the game, is all your going to get. from the website http://www.thebbps.com/blog/2007/10/11/rock-band-the-bundles-dlc-pricing-the-guitar-hero-stigma-disconnected-gaming-and-more/
i hope to be getting this in a few weeks. Normally I would not even try talking my wife into buying it but we had some friends over a couple of weeks ago, and played GH3. everyone could complete songs but her. She has practiced every night pretty much for 2 weeks and is now addicted. She actually has tried talking me into getting RB (which didn't take much effort). the only bad thing is that I have a PS3 and my understanding is thatthe GH3 guitar won;t work with RB. edit: I forgot to mention that my 7 year old recently picked it up and loves it. I think it is hilarious to see him and my 3 year old running around the house singing Slow Ride and Bulls on Parade.
One of the songs that was released yesterday, Beethoven's C***, by Serj Tankarian (lead singer for System of a Down) is going to be a must buy for me. It will be a b**** to sing...but FUN.
I finally beat Green Grass and High Tides on Expert. That was a bit of a b****. I AM NOW THE BEST ROCK BAND GUITARIST EVAR. I got a Gold Guitar and ****.
Nicely done, dude. Believe it or not, I still have not played that song. I did, however, finally get the manual calibration worked out on my HDTV so that the drums play dead on again. So I started playing again for a bit, but mainly world band tour mode with the fam. At some point I'm going to take up the solo drum tour again until I beat it on Hard...or get to the point where I give up. Then I'll switch to the solo guitar mode.
Not sure if anyone has seen this but there is an update coming out for the game on 360 and PS3. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/860/860946p1.html With the unprecedented weekly downloadable content support Rock Band has received so far, it should come as no surprise that Harmonix has been hard at work on a software update to its hit music rhythm game. The game, which now has over 70 songs available for download and has seen more than 6 million track purchases so far, is poised to make the downloading process easier with an in-game music store that will arrive with a host of other updates this week for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Once the auto-update is downloaded, the first update users will notice is the music store. Rather than kicking out you out of the game to make purchases, the music store is now part of the game itself with its own spot on the main menu. Select it and you'll be taken to the store where you can see the full listing of songs, sortable by a variety of criteria including artist, song title, genre, album, release decade and more. Now you'll know just how hard a track is before you pay for it. You'll also be able to look at the album art for that track or pack and stream an audio preview of the song before you download it. Even better, you'll be able to look at the difficulty levels for each song with ratings for the overall challenge as well as a breakdown for each of the four parts. No more getting burned by impossible songs or less than ideal covers. Once you've downloaded the songs, you'll notice that the extra content loads faster and is cached so that it doesn't have to reload the extras every time you turn on the game. Some improvements to the game itself are also being made. Fan caps are being adjusted so that you'll be able to play longer before being forced onto the next difficulty in Band World Tour. Easy players will be able to travel across the Atlantic and Hard players will be able to reach one million fans (and get the accompanying achievement). The Band World Tour will also have an improved variety in song selection to reduce repetition. Vocalists will notice a change in Rock Band as well. The update will bring improved phoneme recognition making crazy songs like Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld more manageable. Specifically for the PlayStaion 3, the microphone latency has been improved. Albums are coming soon! Last, but perhaps not least, Harmonix has fixed an issue with parental controls that stopped band logos from being visible through Xbox Live. The addition many of you were likely hoping for, online Band World Tour support for four players, has not made it into this update. Harmonix knows there are a lot of features fans want added to the game and a spokesperson released this statement in recognition of those hopes: …we're very aware that there are features that the community has requested that aren't addressed in this software update. I want to make it very clear that we're listening to all of your requests, and actively want to get these features onto the Rock Band platform in the future – but when we do add them, we also want them to be 100% perfect, and not rushed just to make it into any specific software update. Keep sending your requests in to Harmonix. It appears the team is listening.
That is freaking awesome that we can hear a streamed preview of songs before we download. When I scan through the available songs right now, some of the names are sort of recognizable, but I can't always place a tune with a name because I'll hear stuff on the radio but not know who it is by or what the name is. This way I know what I am getting. And it is good to hear they are still planning full albums that they are working on the online World Band Tour mode. Harmonix has their **** together.
