This is a new topic. When do teams know who is refereeing their game? Does anybody know? It is impossible to have a complete game plan without knowing this...
i cant believe you guys are trying to blame this loss on the refs... hell they got more fouls called on them than we did.
It's not just quantity, it's timing. Calls or no-calls can change momentum. Yao's 4th on the Pryzflop. The call on the fall just now. There have been tons of those this game. Every time the Rockets make a run, something like that happens. Surely that's not lost on you.
There were more questionable calls from the Rockets no doubt...but we sucked at the free throw line...end of story.
We did lose, you know. Certainly other factors played a part - our atrocious free throw shooting, stupid turnovers at times, and questionable substitutions all contributed, but to deny the refs as a factor is disingenuous.
The NBA is (should) not a socialist state, but a meritocracy. Fouls should not be distributed equally.
The announcers are talking about this. The Referee thread is important. Some referees have bad nights consistently. We are not talking about one game. Over the years I've seen how games are completely determined by the Refs you have. Again...this is not about this game. So don't complain about this game.
It's not a matter of blaming the refs single handedly. Did we play good? No. However, it's ok to acknowledge that the ref's made some pretty bad calls, especially Yao picking up his 4th foul on an obvious flop.
Let's get this straight...not blaming the refs for a loss, but blaming them for wasting playoff intensity. Boring, boring, boring game to watch. I could have had more fun watching soccer (low scoring and even ties - yay!) I would have posted this same thing if we won by 10. Just horrible waste of our time and talent on the court.
