no matter what happens now we don't have to be afraid of carpenter. we've been getting to him all day.
How is it that a ROOKIE like Burke understands that the umpire is squeezing the strike zone, and to wait for Carpenter to get behind before swinging? Meanwhile the rest of the team is hacking at balls in the dirt...unbelievable. Burke at SS..... DD
Suddenly that bloop inning (where they just found a bat to everything Pettite threw, and got a hit) is costing us big-time. It probably should be a the least, a 3-2 game if Andy had just settled down.
That and the bases loaded 1 out debacle... either way we could easily be tied or winning this game right now.
He hasn't played there since 2000 when he was at College. The Astros scouting department drafted him there, but converted him to 2B when they saw his "range"/arm.
I would love to see Burke at SS and Everett on the bench. Lane has power and don't want him on the bench. Maybe they bench Tavarez and keep Burke in CF. He can play CF and Willy hasn't done anything. I'd love Burke in the two hole. He's becoming a player!!
2, 3 and 4 hitters, this is it if we want to make a run.... Patience against Carpenter is the key. DD
Yea... somebody just remember his comments (and the way he said them) when we're facing him tommorow. In fact, somebody should play them for the 'Stros players. Definitely makes him seem less intimidating... far less than a guy of Roy's personality, that's for damn sure. When Roy is asked "what's your favorite restaraunt", and he says "Hacienda..." (and that's all).... I get chills .
