They're just going to pitch around the middle of our lineup and work the bottom of it over any chance they get. Too bad the Astros can't pitch around Edmonds, Pujols, Sanders, and Walker :(

Broken bat single.... it doesn't look like our night so far.

Did you just start watching this team? That's the story of the entire year...

Nice defense by Lamb... haven't seen that sort of play in 4 years (since Baggy hasn't been able to throw for that long).

    flash that leather!!

I'm not trying to be negative... I just live and die with every pitch/at bat. That's what makes the playoffs so fun/agonizing at the same time

Nice pick by Lamb. We are staying in this game, we just need to get a hit with RISP.

while it is only my opinion,

if you give a pitcher too many chances to wiggle out of a jam, it's not going to happen too many more times.

we've blown just a FEW chances this game already against carpenter and if st. louis scores anymore runs, forget about it.

we need to get to carpenter in terms of SCORING runs not just getting base hits and then promptly grounding into a double play everytime

can't let him get off the hook or else it's going to be a long game when he gets control

Right now it's looking pretty simple. Both teams with good pitching (Pettite has setteled down nicely) and fielding. It's the offense that has been the difference. St. Louis has capitlized on their opportunitites with the long ball and squeeze..while Houston left the bases loaded w/ Berkman at the plate, and a man on 3rd with 1 out. Just can't do that.

    *sigh*

Everything is just finding the Cards gloves.

That's a pretty good synopsis... also, the Cardinals's dinkers are finding the field, while the Astros hard hit balls are finding gloves.

How do the cards always pull of a squeeze while we can never get a runner from third home?

Eckstein's annoying... but he's great at what he has to do.
