Spoiler Im pretty sure she saw future events in the flames and just used the leeches as kubuki theatre to increase her influence and try to manipulate Stannis into doing what she wants. She'll look pretty damn impressive if she goes three for three.
I would like that to be true but I kind of doubt that considering it also took him 5 years to write book 4 before that.

In the vein of Conan's "Shatner Secrets" it's GRRM Spoiler. http://teamcoco.com/video/george-rr-martin-game-of-thrones-spoilers NOTE: Not actual spoilers. It's safe to watch.
Melisandre gave birth to Stannis' demon shadow baby. Thoros of Myr brought Beric Dondarrion back to life several times. Both are red priests of R'hllor, Lord of Light. We've been given reason to believe R'hllor might be legit, unlike the other religions, the Seven and the Old Gods of the North, whose gods have never made their "presence" felt.
not to mention when one of stannis' men tried to poision melisandre they both drank from the same glass and he ended up killing himself and she was unaffected. she made it seem like she can control fire too when she said had she been at blackwater the men wouldnt have died by fire.
Spoiler I think the God's of the North, the 'Tree Gods' are real. I mean after all Bran really is a warg and the direwolves were found kind of conspicuously as if they were given to the Starks.
The Gods of the North are probably "real" to some extent. In the episode where Sam kills the walker the face on the tree was made to look as though it was reacting. Plus, the White Walkers themselves are real and so are Giants (seen at the camp of the wildlings.)
I think these tree gods you are referring to are simply known as the Old Gods. When Sam and Jon take their vows they ask to go pray in front of a weirwood tree (the faces were carved in by the children of the forest years ago) since they recognize the Old Gods (well Sam said the new gods failed him so he might as well try the old).
Yeah, but Spoiler I think Bran shows that the Old Gods aren't really gods. They're wargs/greenseers like Bran. Humans with certain powers, but not actually gods. And it's yet to be seen if they can actually affect the world (answer prayers). The most we've been able to see Bran do is "talk" to Theon. Admittedly, he's just started learning how to do it, so maybe there's more to come. But so far, it pales in comparison to R'hllor.
Spoiler The gods of the north are actually real and the green-seers or w.e Bran talks to. They are just like really old cabbage patch kids that are "one" with the trees
yea you are right but Spoiler I think the God's of the North, the 'Tree Gods' are real. I mean after all Bran really is a warg and the direwolves were found kind of conspicuously as if they were given to the Starks.
Yeah, the White walkers and other parts of the north like Wargs are real. So TV Show wise I think it's enough to perhaps say that what the Starks worship could have some power. Spoiler I think they hold power only in the North now because the trees are the source of that power and the south burned them all down or something when they were converted to the seven (who I think BTW hold no power at all) Book stuff, do not read if you haven't read the books... Spoiler The thing is though that the greenseer are said to be rare and that they have A LOT of power. As in controlling nature and animals, that's a lot of power. I mean Melisadre and Thoros obviously have more power right now but Bran is just learning how to use it and this is power that has been lost to their world for a long time now. We also know the children of the forest are real too. I just think that these gods may be a bit more subtle, like giving the stark kids direwolves for extra protection. All the deity stuff is interesting in this story. Spoiler Yeah I think they are real too but they are either more subtle or that they are losing/lost power since more people tend to forget them or convert to The Seven gods.
I think that's just plain old magic and has nothing to do with any Gods. Remember that magic has always been tied to dragons and now that dragons re-enter the world people suddenly have magical powers. In the end I think its just a bunch of magicians or people with special abilities attributing that power to the god they choose.
Came back from an overnight trip. My wife had 10 adult doves rehabbing in an outside flight cage. Some how a racoon got in and killed all of them. Oddly their bodies were there but all of them were missing their heads (most laying in bloody water bowls). You know what I was thinking.
