Is Tywin aware that Arya escaped King's Landing? He must be, but I don't remember them showing that during the show.
Me, too. There are too many story lines to shove into one episode. They pulled this off pretty well. 1. Loved the Queen of Thorns. Diana Rigg still brings the acting chops, and her presence mitigated a bit of the oh-so-clever Maergary. Not that I'm complaining, I'm just saying, it's like saying, OK, enough Mountain Dew, where's that supreme pan pizza we ordered? And Sansa finally got a scene where I didn't roll my eyes: Oh, this simpering nitwit again. And the scene hewed very closely to the book. (Btw: Diana Rigg in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" was big-time yummers.) 2. Liked the Thoros of Myr character quite a bit. 3. Arya and Bran. Arya's still one of my favorite characters. Jojen and Meera were well-cast. In the meantime, the kid actors are aging before our eyes. Bran isn't the cude and cuddly version anymore, he's getting that teenagery look. Hell, even Joffrey is slumping in his chair to hide the fact he's getting taller. The producers of the show said, How do you deal with this? You don't. 4. Jaime and Seven-Hells-Is-That-A-Woman? This is the story arc I really look forward to. Even though some of it won't be resolved until next season, I told my wife to pay attention to their scenes, it gets good. 5. Jon Snow and Sam Tarly. JON IS F***ING DULL. I love the character, but the actor is Orlando Bloom Lite---bad acting, pretty-boy. This story arc will only be spiced up later with Ygritte. Until then? Let's wander around in the snow. Spoiler It gets really good but I fear not until the last part of the book unfolds, which will likely be Season 4. 6. The scene with Cat Stark was extremely well done, I thought. For the life of me I can't remember if it was in the book, but very honest and well-acted.
I read that earlier, I really didn't find the episode slow at all. Not a lot happened but I was still very interested in it throughout. Like the recapper said, it's like the 2nd half of the premiere since they are catching up with everyone from last season.
You're right. It wasn't slow in the least. Sure, it's more set-up than "action", but there's plenty of that en route anyway.
i think what the author is saying is that the season premiere should have been two hours, and yes i agree give me an extra hour on the season, also, i think the first two episodes have felt more like reading the book in the sense that they took a lot of time to tell the story, and it left you wondering about characters you havent seen in a while

Spoiler only click if you read books Spoiler It would suck if you show up and several people are already there playing the Frey's.
^^^^^^ Just so people don't randomly click the spoiler (since you didn't really describe what was inside). There's an insinuation of a seriously major plot point in that spoiler. It will likely be the climax of this season. So don't click if you haven't read the books.
Thanks for the warning. Yes, if a spoiler tag contains an actual future spoiler, a few words making that explicit would be appreciated. A lot of times people use the spoiler tag for things that are real spoilers.
Agree, at least give us a two hour finale. It wont happen, so I'm not gonna get my hopes up. Maybe in season 4 we will finally get 12 episodes.
ah great. I read it and as i did, i realized it was possibly a major spoiler and then you confirm it making it worse. I would have forgotten about it. I hate the internet. I hate all of you. Never browsing this topic again. Jerks.
They killed most of the Night's Watch on the fist and now we don't know exactly where they are, but presumably they would be chasing the survivors.
? I've read all the books and the spoiler is extremely vague at best. Honestly, I'm not even sure what it's referring too. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
