It doesn't conform to the rest of the story about the Iron Islands and the GreyJoys. Once that scene started, you knew that dude was dying... because of the bridge. The bridge didn't break, but was integral to his death. It's just out of place.
I forget, but isn't Davos well aware of the threat from the white walkers, and doesn't he know Jon Snow defeated one himself? The Baratheons and Starks are friendly, Davos is pro Baratheon.
Plus, Davos is in need of a leader/king to follow. That's Davos' role. He can't be that guy, doesn't want to be that guy, and is lost without that guy. To him, it has to be Jon Snow.
Several reasons. A. He mentioned something about how he wants to right the wrongs he did against the Starks, and sounds like the Wall isn't the place to do that. We aren't told what his plan is if he even has one, but going back home seems to be where he can do something productive. We'll have to wait and see what he is planning on doing, but sounds like he wants to make things right or seek redemption. B. He seems to be implying that fighting and serving next to Jon Snow will not be a good idea. He might even be thinking that it could be a cruel reminder to Jon of everything he's done to his family, and didn't want to do that to Jon. Or just that he thinks Jon will take action against him. If you were Theon what would you do? Go to the Wall and take the black next to Jon Snow a guy who will likely want to kill you (and is the Lord Commander) or go elsewhere once you get Sansa to safety.
He's still the Lord of the Vale (and technically Harrenhal). Most importantly he has the Knights of the Vale at his disposal. Once this War for the North heats up and the Houses pick their sides, I assume Littlefinger will be intregal acting like a swing vote. Now that Roose is dead, and his alliance he brokered has been abused (literally in this case) I assume he will want Ramsey dead at the end of whatever he has planned. If Jon Snow is involved it will be interesting to see if that changes Littlefingers support of installing Sansa as Wardeness of the North although Sansa probably has better claim than Jon since he isn't pure Stark. Jon might have claim elsewhere that is a spoiler to be discussed at another time (possibly next week). If Sansa was Wardeness of the North and Littlefinger holds both the Vale & Harrenhal, he could be looking at getting support from Sansa & the North to install him as King or Hand of the King after the North revolts against the Lannisters again. This time the entire North would also have the Vale along with their other allies. Also Littlefinger obviously has under the table agreements with the Tyrells who he could be planning on giving the throne to if they betray Tommen & the Lannisters. Maybe he will ask for Margery to take the throne and marry him.. therefore making him King. At least that's what I think Littlefinger's end game is although he's likely to succeed. That's why its interesting that now with the latest developments (and something we might learn next week) that could put him in opposition to someone else in seeking the throne. I'll just leave it. The Spoiler is the worst kept secret FYI, but I'll leave it out just for respect of anyone that for some reason has been living under a rock.
I think as some others have mentioned that something else happened that brought Snow back. Right before he wakes up the dire wolf looks towards something in my opinion. Why show him doing that if it doesn't mean anything. There is a missing link possibly between the time they left and Jon Snow waking up.
The way these characters get around so quickly on a vast continent.....I guess Theon will have to take Westeros Air, as they all do (maybe Littlefinger hooked him up with some frequent flyer miles before leaving King's Landing).
I just thought it was his spirit returning. All I know is that when Ghost lifted up, I jumped out of my chair in anticipation!!! Awesome episode IMO!
Possibly, but I felt it was just Ghost sensing that it's master just woke back up. Once Ghost looked over, that's when I was like "yup, he's waking up now"
And yet word travels even faster... via GPS controlled Ravens who are able to get messages to houses faster/more accurately than the USPS does.
It looked to me that Ghost was just looking up at Jon because he had felt his presence or something. I would hope that something else is at play, however, because just being resurrected by the Red Woman feels a bit unfulfilling. As for the pace of the season, I find myself on the fence. I have enjoyed how quickly things have been happening, with nary a scene without action (and this is coming from someone who enjoys the pacing of a show like Better Call Saul). My problem, however, is that the "leaders" of nations are being so easily and quickly disposed. It's becoming comical. It hasn't changed my view of the show, but despite the fact that we're talking about a world where dragons exist, people can control animals with their minds, and men can be raised from the dead, it prevents me from suspending my belief because I am aware that these events are occurring because of underlying factors in a groupthink session.
What happened to the poster who apparently knew the producers, and said that they mentioned how the resurrection wouldn't be what we expected... It was exactly what we expected lol.
Definitely seems like he will take that Vic arc. Trailers hint at her going to Essos (that lesbo scene)
