^^^ This and TDKR are what gets my inner geek excited for 2012. Maybe Prometheus.... if its rated R. Is anyone else pissed that the Bluray set is not being released in time for xmas and we can't have someone else buy it for us as a gift.

Been a fan of the series for about a decade, and the tv series for the most part is very gratifying to watch. Should be interesting to see how they translate to screen a particular event towards the end of the Clash. my 2 cents about book 4: Spoiler I know it gets a lot of hate, but I thought it was very well written and really really liked it. I consider books 4 and 5 to be a sort of "middle act" where the pieces are being picked up after the long and bloody war in Westeros. Necessarily, a lot of time is spent setting up the action that is sure to come in the last couple books. Still, I admit some parts did drag, but overall, I love every book.

Season 2 start date April 1st has been announced as the start date for season 2. http://winteriscoming.net/2012/01/game-of-thrones-season-two-to-debut-april-1st/
Just 10 episodes? Had hoped it was at least 12. All of the other series have 12. Why wouldn't one based on big, long ass books not be at least that much?
As long as Storm of Swords is done over 2 season, as has been rumored, I'm fine with them telling Clash of Kings in just 10 episodes.
Wow Carice van Houten as Melisandre of Asshai. I din't know about that untill today. She really is beginning to be one of our most successfull actresses.

Quick Observations: This season should be very Tyrion-centric, and rightly so. Arya's storyline is going to be awesome. Poor Sansa. Didn't think they'd go there. Joffrey's still a little ****.
Tons of new publicity stills released: http://www.buzzsugar.com/Game-Thrones-Season-2-Pictures-21694311 Stannis, Melisandre and Brienne all look great. Not what I pictured Balon Greyjoy to look like, but their casting has been perfect so far so I'll roll with it.
